Welcome to the April edition of our ML newsletter!
ML Department Updates
ML Folder and Checklist
At our monthly ML Facilitator meeting, we discussed how some ISBE Updates have impacted our ML Folder Checklist. We made some adjustments to our current form and hope you find it easy to use. All ML Folders are to be completed by the end of the day on June 6th. Please make sure to use the updated form.
Incoming Kinder Screening
The spring events to screen incoming Kinder students are scheduled for April 30th and May 6th. All appointments are taking place at the ELC from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. We will add some summer dates for August soon. Make sure to work with building admin assistants to collect HLS's.
Celebrate Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month
April is National Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month. To help celebrate and highlight our multilingual students, we are sharing a resource below. Attached you will find a BINGO card that has multiple ways to highlight, support, and advocate for ML students and their families. Each box has a link embedded in the image, click to read and discover new strategies and ideas.
Please print, sign, and date the completed boxes. If you complete at least 5 activities throughout the month of April, send your Bingo card to Libby Juskiewicz (juskiewicze@d62.org) by May 2nd to win a prize!
