Beyond the Classroom: Discover the Vibrancy of Student Life
Discover the dynamic activities at CMIT North High School, where engaging extracurriculars, meaningful projects, and collaborative events bring students, staff, and the community together to enhance our vibrant school environment.
Saturday Academy
This Saturday at CMIT North High School was filled with energy and purpose, as students engaged in a variety of enriching activities that showcase our commitment to STEM excellence and community involvement.
Our Science Olympiad team worked diligently, preparing for upcoming competitions, while Team Illusion honed their skills in robotics, mastering techniques for the FIRST Robotics Competition. The Cyber Security Club dove deep into safeguarding digital spaces, while students participating in the EOP and Science Tutoring sessions made strides in their academic growth.
Adding to the excitement, many students dedicated their time to research, making significant progress as they prepare for the upcoming Science Fair. What truly crowned the day was the Growing Green with Pride initiative, where students took a hands-on approach to environmental stewardship by planting five trees and various perennial plants in our prospective solar garden.
These collective efforts not only build academic excellence but also foster a deep sense of responsibility towards our environment and school community. We are proud to see our students growing, learning, and contributing in meaningful ways.
The Value of Club Participation at CMIT North High School
At CMIT North High School, club participation empowers students to explore their passions and develop new skills while connecting with peers. Through STEM competitions, the arts, leadership roles, and community service, clubs create opportunities for academic and personal growth. These experiences enhance teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving abilities, all of which strengthen college applications and scholarship prospects. Joining a club not only provides valuable insights for shaping future paths but also allows students to make a lasting impact on their school community.

Growing Green with pride
On Saturday, October 19th, over 30 students came together to beautify our school as part of our initiative to promote environmental stewardship and community pride. They collected 7 bags of trash from the school, the elementary school, the middle school, and the WSSC soccer field. Students also planted trees and flowers near the solar clock to enhance our landscape.
A special thank you to our PTSO President, Denise Rosales, who joined us, along with parents from grades 9, 10, and 11. We appreciate everyone who donated snacks and the PTSO for providing the gardening tools! Follow us on X CMIT Growing Green

On Thursday, October 17th, Mrs. Cunning's AP Government classes engaged in a Scholar Exchange hosted by the National Constitution Center. During this dynamic 45-minute session, students explored the concept of Federalism and Separation of Powers, guided by lawyers Dicky Grigg and Therese Obringer. In this session, students explored Federalism and the debate over how to balance the powers of the national government, the powers of the states, and the rights of individuals. They also examined the debates over Federalism at the Constitutional Convention, how it works, how it has changed over time, how the Supreme Court has addressed it, and how it affects us today. At the conclusion of the meeting, students felt that it was a good review of the content that was discussed in class and at their field trip last week, and have a better understanding of how it affects them today.

PARENTS TEACHERS ORGANIZATION
A Message from Your 2024-2025 PTSO President, Denise Rosales
I look forward to interacting with everyone, and if we have not had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Denise Rosales. Thanks to the tremendous support of faculty staff at CMIT North High, I have the privilege to act as PTA President for the school year of 2024-2025. I would not have been able to step into this position if it weren’t for our Executive Board putting in overtime for the Organization. A huge thank you to those who are already stepping up where my schedule limits me.
Both my children attend CMIT North Schools, one at the Elementary school and the other a junior at the High School. My husband and I couldn’t have selected a better place for our children to receive their education as they both are thriving and happily enrolled at CMIT North Schools. It has been an honor to support both CMIT North Elementary and CMIT North High Schools as an active volunteer. I am honored to have the support from the staff at CMIT North High on my nomination.
My educational background consists of a degree in Business Administration. I enjoy volunteering in my local community, and currently serving at St. Mary’s during their bible study as a bilingual volunteer. Since 2022, I have spent some of my time volunteering in CMIT North Elementary and High classrooms, engaging and presenting new ideas and support for events. This gave me great insight into the strengths, and also the needs, at our beloved CMIT North High School. This 2024-2025 school year I am looking forward to continuing the momentum of the organization and delivering further success together.
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome and voting for my position as PTSO President.
Lets smile, all hands in, and create a memorable experience for the community, families, and our students.
Yours Sincerely,
Denise Rosales
President, PTSO SY24-25
