Early Release 1:35--May 5
Principal's Message
We had our April attendance awards this past week. See photos below for which class got the trophy! It's a big competition here!
We had our kickoff for the Kids' Heart Challenge on Monday. We are less than $500 from reaching our goal of $3000. Our color run is on May 16th! See information below about how to get involved.
As we entered into the last several weeks of the school year, so much is happening! Make sure to keep up to date with your child's teacher and check those backpacks for notes sent home.
Our office is open 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school office or you can reach me by email at tcockerill@susanvillesd.org
Have an amazing weekend!
Ms. Cockerill

Dear Families,
Kids Heart Challenge starts soon, and we are proud to support the American Heart Association through this service-learning program. Students will learn how to have happy and healthy hearts and brains, while raising lifesaving donations to help others with special hearts. Plus, your family can learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR through Finn’s Mission! Sign Up TODAY at www.heart.org/schools or by downloading the FREE AHA Schools App for Apple or Android.
Students who sign up early will be recognized at our assembly on 4/28/2025!
Meet heart survivor Finn and hear how completing Finn’s Mission gives hope to everyone, everywhere. Let’s save lives together! Thank you for being a Heart Hero!

Staff Feature
We use this section each week to introduce you to our staff and to help you get to know them a little better!
Joe McDowell and Zoie Wilder, PE Specialists
Mr. Joe and Miss Zoie make PE fun for our students each week. Last week, they were teaching basketball skills. This week we are learning soccer skills. TK was even having potato sack races.
Mr. Joe remembers being in school and having races with his friends at recess (He won!). His goal for this year is to do well on his finals at Lassen Community College.
Miss Zoie doesn't remember too much from early elementary except that she didn't like school much. Her goal this year is to help kindergarten students increase their coordination.
