Viking Families: FastBridge
We are asking for your partnership in communicating the importance of being to CORE ONE on time in the motioning. If you student eats breakfast, the following plan has been taught to them this week through the news.
In an effort to offer breakfast and maximize instructional time we ask that students and staff adhere to the following procedure:
Students are let into the building promptly at 7:30am,
car riders/walkers can enter at 7:15am.
If they would like breakfast, they should go directly to the cafeteria for a grab and go style breakfast.
Visit lockers
Be in Core 1 class by 7:40am
***If students enter the building after 7:35am:
They should visit their Core 1 teacher to obtain a gold pass
Proceed to cafeteria for grab and go
Visit locker
Go directly to Core 1
Thank you for your help!

District 47 Website Feedback
We value your input and would greatly appreciate your feedback on our District 47 website. Your insights will help us enhance the online experience for both parents/guardians and staff. Please take a moment to share your thoughts by clicking on this survey link.
Important Bus Safety Reminder
Student safety is our number one priority. It has come to our attention that there is some unsafe activity occurring in the Bernotas parking lot after dismissal.
Some parents/guardians who are picking up their children after school are driving around school buses when their stop arm is out and North elementary students are boarding the bus. This is an unsafe and unlawful practice. This is also occurring at the end of the day when some of our students in special education are boarding school buses.
Please know it is against llinois law to drive around a school bus when its stop arm is out, even when students are boarding on the opposite side of the bus. Should this continue to occur, TJA bus drivers have been instructed to write down license plate numbers and report this activity to the police.
Thank you for adhering to the law and protecting our students.
CRYSTAL LAKE DISTRICT47 DEVELOPS PARTNERSHIP WITH THE BREAK TEEN CENTER
We are excited to share that The Break is partnering with District 47 to provide a safe place for our students to have fun, connect and find acceptance in their after school program. Transportation will be available after school. We are limited to 20 spots daily (until The Break is able to expand this service). As a result, all 3 middle schools will have a daily sign up sheet (much like the activity bus sign up but this will be shared amongst all 3 middle schools). This will be a first come, first serve basis.
Families will need to enroll their child at The Break.
Step 1: The Break Registration Form
Step 2: RSVP on the home page The BREAK Home Page RSVP For Day/Event Would Like To Join
Membership at the BREAK is $10/month and that can be paid online when you register and there is an option for recurring membership fees.
Nobody is ever turned away if they are unable to pay!! It is a simple process and they simply need to send a request to brenda@clbreak.com.
They are scheduling a parent orientation via zoom (any parent can come in anytime to check out the facility as well as talk to staff) for Tuesday, October 11th at 6p.m.
The parent orientation will include all of the information listed above, as well as an idea of what the afternoon will look like: after school snacks, Pizza Fridays, Smoothie Wednesdays, other activities, optional homework help, hours, and our 8 rules and FAQ.
For additional information please refer to https://www.clbreak.com/ We are so grateful for the support of the Crystal Lake community and excited for this opportunity for our students!!
Current seventh grade students - Springfield April 2024
- Current seventh grade students have the opportunity to travel to Springfield, in April 2024, to tour the many monuments, museums, and historical sites this amazing city has to offer.
- You and your student(s) are cordially invited to an informational meeting about the April 2024, Springfield Trip on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. During the meeting, we will talk about travel dates, potential tour itinerary, and tour cost. We will also have time to answer any questions you may have. Enrollment for the tour will open after the meeting.
- These tours are such a great educational opportunity for students and I hope to see a lot of seventh graders (and parents) at the meeting to hear all about it!

Answers to frequently asked questions about school physicals
The state of Illinois physical is required for students entering Kindergarten, 6th, and 9th grade. This type of physical includes a physical exam and immunization review. It may be used for sports participation as long as the MD has checked the interscholastic box on the back above the MD signature
The IESA/IHSA sports physical can be used for sports participation in any grade. Most commonly for 7th and 8th graders. This type of physical does not include an immunization review
All physicals are good for 13 months or 395 days. Once they are expired the student is not allowed to participate in a practice or game until a new physical is received. It is helpful to keep a copy of a current physical and immunization record at home for any use outside of the school
District Bullying Policy
We want to inform you that there has been a change in the school district's policy regarding bullying allegations. Previously, school officials were required to notify parents "promptly," but a new law now mandates that notifications must be made within 24 hours of the school becoming aware of the allegation. Your child's safety and well-being remain our top priority, and we will continue to uphold these new guidelines to ensure a safer learning environment for all students.

Hi Viking Families!
This week the Building Leadership Team met to analyze FastBridge data. Now that the data is available, grade level teams will use this information to create goals that support all learners in their grade, while our first round of academic interventions began at the beginning of Term 2. If your student is participating in an academic intervention, a letter was mailed home. Updates will be mailed at the end of each term regarding the progress being made while in the intervention groups. Contact your teachers or the interventionist with questions.
Thank you for being a part of the Viking TEAM!
