Student Transportation: 2024-25 registration
Planning to use Student Transportation in the 2024-25 school year? If so, make sure your child is registered so Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) can plan routes and send your child a bus pass before the first day of school.
All students who indicated needing transportation services through the returning student or new student registration processes are now registered. Those families have also received tentative route schedules and invoices—fees are due June 30, 2024.
For those students who did not indicate needing transportation services during the registration process and want to now register, contact EIPS’ Student Transportation office at 780-417-8151.
For more information about EIPS Student Transportation, visit www.eips.ca/transportation.
NOTE: Families can pay fees online using the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
To pay in-person, visit the EIPS Student Transportation building during its office hours—Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on school days and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on non-school days.
School Council Thank You!
We held out last School Council meeting of the school year. We are so lucky to have such an incredible group of parents supporting F.R. Haythorne, engaging in conversations with us, sharing ideas, and contributing to an incredible partnership between home and school.
We will be holding our AGM on September 18, 2024 at 6 p.m. in our school library; you don't want to miss it! Tell your friends!
Students Leaving School at Lunch
A reminder that our school is a closed campus. This means that only students who have permission to go home for lunch are allowed to leave school grounds; we manage this this permission through the office. Thank you in advance for having a conversation about this with your children.
Caregiver Series: May and June Sessions
Alberta Health Services offers free online programming for parents and caregivers of children and youth. Sessions are offered through Zoom. Upcoming topics include understanding anxiety, wellness exchange, test anxiety and silver linings. The list of May and June 2024 sessions is now available.
Has your contact information recently changed?
Have you recently moved or has your contact information changed? F.R. Haythorne Junior High encourages families to review the information the Division has on file to ensure it’s up to date. Using the Student Information Update available through the PowerSchool Parent Portal, families can review the current information on file for each student—including addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, parent and guardian information, emergency contacts, medical details and other related information—and submit any updates needed.
Reviewing and updating the form ensures the school and Division have the most up-to-date information regarding your child. Your review is especially important as the Division prepares for 2024-25 registration processes beginning in the new year.
NOTE: Only submit updates for the changes that have already taken place. If you’re moving later this school year, you’ll submit the necessary updates to your information through the Student Information Update after you’ve moved.
If you have questions about the form or any trouble with your Parent Portal account, contact the school office at 780-467-3800.
