Goal Area 1: Updates! Safe and Thriving
As was shared earlier in the year, our School Improvement Plan includes a goal around supporting our school community with understanding what bullying is, and what it isn't. Earlier in the year, our staff met to look at various samples of ways other school communities have helped staff, students and families differentiate between bullying, and other unwanted, harmful behavior. Next, we collectively decided on language we would use here at Findley. Once we had decided on the language we were going to use, Mrs. Gotfried (School Counselor) and Mrs. Hargrave (Student Success Coach) created visuals and lessons to use with students.
All staff and students have now been taught the language we use to talk about unwanted and harmful behavior, as well as strategies to use if you have experienced unwanted or harmful behavior. In addition to the lessons and visuals that were shared with students, a parent resource was created as well.
We are excited to share this resource below with our families as we partner with you to help our students recognize and respond to unwanted and harmful behavior.
The Book Fair is Coming!

America 250: America’s Field Trip
In 2026, the United States will mark our Semiquincentennial: the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Today’s young people are the leaders, innovators, and thinkers who will shape the next 250 years — and it’s important their voices are heard as we commemorate this historic milestone.
America’s Field Trip is a new contest that invites students across the country in grades 3–12 to be part of America’s 250th anniversary by sharing their perspectives on what America means to them — and earning the opportunity to participate in unforgettable field trip experiences at some of the nation’s most iconic historic and cultural landmarks.
Students may submit artwork, videos, or essays in response to the contest’s prompt: “What does America mean to you?”
