If there are any questions about course selection, please contact Mrs. Rekart, mrekart@conroeisd.net, for more information.
What core courses can my child choose?
There are level and honors courses to choose from for all core subjects. Students may choose to take as many honors courses as they want. The only subject that is different is math because there are 3 math courses to choose from, level math, pre-algebra, and algebra. Only students who have taken a CBE exam and passed are allowed to take the algebra course.
What PE or athletic course should my child choose?
Students who do not want to play a sport will choose PE. Male students who want to play a sport choose boys athletics, unless they are playing football, they will choose boys' football. Female students who want to play a sport choose girls athletics, girls who want to be in cheer choose cheer, and girls who want to be in drill team choose drill team. All sports have try-outs to be a part of the team, so please check the dates of Irons website for dates and times.
How many electives does my child choose?
Student courses are earned by credits, like high school. There are some electives that run a full year and are worth 1 credit, and other electives that are a semester long and worth .5 credit. Students will have the 4 core subjects, a pe or athletics course, and 3-5 electives for the entire year. Student credits will add up to 7.5 credits for all courses.
What if my child lost their course selection form?
The course information for Irons and the course selection forms are on the Irons Junior High website or the 6th grade counselor, Mrs. Rekart, will have extra forms.

As we work to increase Vogel Intermediate’s daily attendance – please continue to support your child’s educational process by limiting the amount of school missed except for illness. Vogel Intermediate daily goal is 98%.

2025-2026 Calendar Feedback Requested
Conroe ISD’s 2025-2026 calendar has a different Spring Break than Lone Star College and other Texas universities. The calendars for many institutions had not been publicly released when the Board of Trustees approved the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 calendars in January of 2024. The table below shows the Spring Break weeks of area school districts along with Lone Star College and other Texas universities.
Please respond to the brief, linked survey by Friday, January 17, at noon to provide feedback to the Board of Trustees on whether you want Conroe ISD’s Spring Break to remain the week of March 9 - 13, 2026 or move to the week of March 16 - 20, 2026. They will use the provided feedback to inform their decision.
Note: There are no changes to the current school year’s calendar. Spring Break for the 2024-2025 school year is March 10-14, 2025.
Keep 'Em Safe Texas Initiative
Safe gun storage is critical to preventing unintentional shootings, suicide, and other tragedies. Learn more about the Keep ‘Em Safe Texas initiative and view resources at the provided link. Gun locks are also available through the Conroe ISD Police Department.
PowerSchool
The only way we know your most updated phone numbers, email address, emergency contacts, and people that may pick up your child is to complete the PowerSchool (formerly InfoSnap) returning student registration. This process does away with filling out multiple forms on the first day of school.
Your student's PowerSchool code and website link will be sent to you via email in July, and the email subject is normally titled "Conroe Independent School District - Verification of Student Registration Directions for (Student Name)."
School Messenger
All SMS messages received from the Conroe ISD District Office and your child's campus will begin with "Conroe ISD:" and come from the subscribe code 67587. If you have not yet opted-in to receive SMS messages, you can do so at any time throughout the school year by texting "Y" to 67587.
