Principal's Message
We are kicking off October with Bullying Awareness Week! The Kansas State Board of Education and the Kansas State Senate have designated the first full week in October as Bullying Awareness Week. At LES we are using this opportunity to create awareness and address the harm bullying creates. The theme this year is "Choose Respect." Each day students will participate in a variety of activities including spirit week, daily announcements with bully awareness tips, and activities.
Several events are scheduled this month. Please see the "Upcoming LES Events" section below and save those dates!
We appreciate you! Thank you for your continued support of LES.
"The strength of the pack is the Bulldog, and the strength of the Bulldog is the pack."

Note from Nurse Carroll
It is important that students with contagious illnesses are kept home until they are well enough to return and function adequately in school. If your child is well enough to come to school, but still may require some OTC medications to maintain their comfort, please remember to follow these district guidelines.
ALL medications must be sent in the original container and must be appropriate dosage for your child's age and weight. All medications must be accompanied by a note from the parent/guardian and for prescription medication a note from the physician, containing the following information:
1) Date
2) Name of student
3) Name of medication
4) Dosage (amount, time of day, and number of days med is to be taken)
5) Reason for medication (ie., strep throat, ear infection)
6) Any special instructions or information that might be helpful
7) Signature of parent/guardian
Any changes in dosage, time or reason must be accompanied by a note from a parent/guardian.
Non-prescription medications will not be supplied by the school. Please note that throat lozenges/cough drops are considered medication and are subject to the above policies. This policy was developed with the safety of your child in mind. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions concerning this policy or have concerns regarding any student health-related issue.
