Board Meeting Summary 3/25/2024
- Becky Hansen, Executive Director of Business Services and Sustainability presented the results of the RFP (request for proposal) process for the District's food service vendor contract. Hansen explained that three companies submitted proposals, whose guidelines are set by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). She then reviewed the submissions along with Rebecca Jensen, District Nurse and Dave Lamers, Woodland Intermediate Principal and Student Wellness Representative. Based on the DPI's selection criteria, and the District's long favorable history, Hansen recommended that the District's current vendor, Chartwells, be awarded the contract. The Board approved Chartwells as the District's food service vendor for the 2024-25 school year, with the option of up to four one-year renewals. Following the vote, Chartwells representatives thanked the Board and presented some additional information regarding the services that they provide to the District.
- The Board approved resignations for Anna Hoffman, 4th grade Teacher at Janssen Elementary School; Dawn Moore, 3rd grade Literacy Teacher at Janssen Elementary School; Allison Moseng, 3rd grade Literacy Teacher at Westside Elementary School; Jennifer Thomas, 3rd grade Literacy Teacher at Woodland Elementary School; and Andi Salm, English as a Second Language Teacher at J.R. Gerritts Middle School, and Mapleview and Woodland Intermediate Schools, all effective June 6, 2024.

Planting Seeds for Success
At the Planting Seeds for Success event hosted by our 4K Center for Literacy, families gathered for an enchanting evening filled with creativity and learning. With a sprinkle of education and a lot of fun, the night was made even sweeter with delicious treats and engaging storytime sessions.
