September 2024

It's officially spooky-season and we're here for it! We have so much fun planned for this month... be on the lookout for a library scarecrow on the square this month and visit us at Scares on the Square! We have teen and adult ghostly craft programs, Bunnicula as our October Elementary Book Club selection, and a pumpkin-themed Stories with STEAM program this month. We are also hosting a fantasy-themed pumpkin carving contest with children, teen, and adult categories and each category has it's own awesome prize (scroll down for more info)!
We also can't let this month pass us by without recognizing World Mental Health Day. We will be hosting Yoga for Teens, led by a certified yoga instructor from Studio Forty.
We hope you have a spook-tacular month!!

Behind the Scenes: Staff Spotlight
Shelli, Circulation Clerk
Meet Shelli, one of our wonderful library team members who has been with us for 1 year and 8 months. Growing up in Westfield, IN, Shelli attended high school there before heading to IUPUI. After nearly two decades as a stay-at-home mom, she decided to pursue a new path that would make her boys proud. When asked about her favorite part of the job, she said it's all about the amazing patrons and her great co-workers. Outside of work, Shelli enjoys reading, attending her son's sporting events, thrift-store shopping, and exploring festivals—especially those with bluegrass music! Recently, Shelli was elected to the Spina Bifida of Indiana Board. She's excited for this opportunity and we're proud of her as well! Congratulations, Shelli! We're lucky to have you on our team!
