Second Fact Sheet in Series Published
The second fact sheet in the Best Management Practices to Control Internal Parasites in Small Ruminants series has been published. The second fact sheet discusses the potential use of copper oxide wire particles in parasite control programs. It was written by Linda Coffey, Sheep & Goat Specialist with NCAT-ATTRA.

Survey to Determine Impact of VFD
Michigan State University Extension, in partnership with other Land-Grant Universities, is conducting a nationwide survey of food-animal producers to learn more about how the VFD rules that have been in effect just over a year have impacted animal agriculture.

Effects of Selective Deworming
A 3-year study (2006-2008) was conducted at the Appalachian Farming Systems Research Center in Beaver, West Virginia to determine the effects of selective deworming on performance and parameters associated with gastro-intestinal parasite management.

New Fact Sheets From Australia
The Department of Primary Industries in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, has published several new fact sheets pertaining to internal parasites in small ruminants. New South Wales has a varied climate, including regions in which the barber pole worm is problematic.
American Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control (ACSRPC)
The ACSRPC is a group of scientists, veterinarians, and extension specialists dedicated to helping small ruminant producers control GI parasites in their flocks and herds.
