Mrs. Marvin's Corner
This week, we celebrated our educators who work many hours to provide a quality education to your children. When I was growing up, there were many times that I found myself in a teaching position even at a young age. We used to set up a school classroom in the basement and I would pretend to be the teacher to my brothers and sister and neighbor kids. I remember being asked to sub for the teacher when they were absent while I was in Eighth Grade at Nativity School in Lorain. Being in the education system for over 38 years has been a rewarding career but working in a Catholic School is a calling. This week St. Mary School was approved to accept Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarships. Why is this important, you may ask. It is just another way that we are able to service children in a faith based educational setting. Coming from a Special Education background and being passionate about meeting the needs of all children, it is exciting that we will be able to offer an additional way to fund services for students with disabilities.
Don't forget we are continuing to accept applications for students for the 2020-2021 School Year. Being a small school has it's advantages for social distancing and scheduling as we look forward to the upcoming school year. EdChoice Scholarships are still available for tuition. The deadline for EdChoice Scholarships is May 30th. If you missed out on the first round of FACTS Assistance, please reach out to us. The next deadline is June 1st.
If you drop by the office, take a sneak peek of the painting in the Activity Center. It is starting to look amazing. The stage drapes have been cleaned and the new energy efficient lighting will be starting next week.

SCRIP Gift Cards Are great For Mom's, Graduates and Teachers
Need gift cards for graduates, teachers, or just to give to someone in need?
Scrip cards are still available. We will be putting in an order on Monday, May 11, with cards ready for pickup in the church by Friday, May 15. Orders can be placed online at shopwithscrip.com or myscripwallet.com on a mobile device. Additionally, you can just email me your order if that is easier. If ordering a teacher gift, I can deliver it to the school and put it in the teacher's mailbox. Attached is the teachers' favorites from Christmas, if that is helpful. Thanks for using Scrip to support St. Mary's School!

St. Mary School Information
Since 1865, people have known St. Mary School students by their actions. This is because throughout our history, we have focused on building student’s character, based on the values instilled by the Catholic Faith, and a foundation of academic excellence.
St. Mary School provides a welcoming environment where families have the freedom to celebrate the faith. In a world of need, responsibility matters and strength is needed to serve our communities. It is our mission to develop students who have the ability to be mentors and leaders in the world. We recognize that each student is a unique gift from God and we individualize instruction to help them reach their full potential. We strive to promote an atmosphere that encourages a love of learning and provides children with a foundation of faith to balance and guide them for the rest of their lives.
