Spring Pastries with the Principals April 12th 7:30 AM
The purpose of Title 1 is “to provide all children the opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps” (Title 1, Section 1001 Statement of Purpose). Grace Early Childhood Center, Cambridge Elementary, Gladden Elementary, Wilckens STEAM Academy at Hillcrest, and Kentucky Trail Elementary are all school-wide, Title 1 schools.
We will have a short presentation to help our families learn more about how we use Title 1 services to help students improve their reading and math skills.
Please join us Friday, April 12th at 7:30 AM in the Cambridge Elementary library for our ‘Pastries with the Principal’s Title Presentation’. Please let us know if you can attend by calling 816-348-1008 and if you need an interpreter. If you cannot attend, contact the school office for more information. Childcare will not be available.
Please enter the building through the front doors or the cafeteria doors. After the presentation, there will be a short survey for guests to complete.

Message From Nurse Morgan
Please notify the school nurse regarding any medical concerns and medications that need to be given at school. Please DO NOT send medication with your student.
Our health office does not carry over-the-counter pain relievers, allergy, or illness medications for student use. If you feel your student will need this medication you are welcome to check in an unopened and non-expired medication for your student to use at school. ALL MEDICATIONS need to be checked in by a parent to the school nurse or office staff.
As a reminder please DO NOT send your student to school if they have a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting within 24 hour period before coming to school. If you have given any medication to remedy these ailments please keep your student at home.
Parent Drop off and Pick up
It’s an excellent time to review arrival and dismissal procedures for car riders. Please let the office know if you have any questions.
Morning drop-off procedures-
Please go down Scott or Cobern to join the line of traffic on Kent when dropping off students. We ask that you refrain from turning down Kent to join the line.
There are no left turns into the drive from Cambridge Road.
Students should have their backpack, lunchboxes, and jackets on ready to get out of the vehicles. Quick goodbyes are helpful in making the transition easier and all students entering the school on time.
Afternoon dismissal-
Parents must have the car rider sign displayed in the window during dismissal. Parents who do not have signs will be asked to go to the office for verification.
If you need time to assist your child with buckling up. After they enter the vehicle, please pull to the left side (west side) of the drive to help them. Pulling over to the left side (west side) allows for the moving traffic to flow more smoothly.
Make Sure You Can Access Power School
It is important for parents and guardians to have access to Power School. This is where you will enroll your student for summer school when it becomes available. This is also where parents and guardians will enroll their returning children for the 2024-2025 school year.
Please follow the step-by-step instructions to access your account. If you need help creating an account, please contact our front office.
Lost and Found
We still have many items in our lost and found. If your student is missing items please remind them to check our school lost and found. All items will be donated to charity at the end of each quarter.
Miscellaneous items:
Students may enter the building at 8:15 AM.
Please notify the office via email, or phone call if your student will be late or absent by 9am.
School hours are 8:30 AM-3:31 PM.
Breakfast is free to all students.
Student lunch costs $3.00. If the cost of lunch is a hardship for your family, apply for free or reduced-cost lunches through Parent Portal.
Reusable water bottles are strongly encouraged.
You may notice new dismissal tags on your child’s backpack. Please make sure the tags stay on the backpack. We will issue a new tag if your child’s dismissal procedure changes permanently.
All student transportation changes must be made in writing by 2:30pm the day of change at the latest
