ELEMENTARY ROBOTICS EVENT - A WORD FROM THE ORGANIZER...
My name is Adeline Paul, and I am an 11th grader from the Utica Academy for International Studies. I recently won a $10,000 pitch competition sponsored by the Utica-Shelby Kiwanis Club. My project is an event for all Kindergarten-5th grade families interested in getting their student(s) involved in FIRST Robotics, an international, youth organization that teaches students essential STEAM skills through innovation, creativity, and collaboration. Specifically, FIRST Robotics has an FLL (FIRST LEGO League) program that is designed for elementary students to get involved in the world of STEAM, teaching students how to design, build, and code their own robot from LEGOs to compete in competitions based on different annual challenges. It also teaches them fundamental skills such as researching, public speaking, and effective communication to set them up to be successful future leaders and entrepreneurs.
Time & Date: We have two open sessions.
1. Tuesday, May 21st from 6-8 PM
2. Wednesday, May 29th from 6-8 PM
Location: Velocity
6633 18 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48314
