Principal's Corner
Dear Hirsch Hawk Parents and Guardians,
This week, as we prepare for Thanksgiving, we are reminded of the importance of gratitude. At Hirsch Elementary, we are grateful for our incredible students, supportive families, and dedicated staff who work together to create a learning environment where every child can soar.
It’s a busy and exciting week at Hirsch! Here’s what’s happening:
Campus-Based Assessments (CBAs): Students will be taking their CBAs this week to measure progress on the curriculum objectives they’ve been learning over the past three months. Please support your child by ensuring they get plenty of rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time.
Grandparents' Day – Friday, November 22nd: We are thrilled to welcome grandparents and those who stand in as grandparents to join us for a special day. Guests will visit classrooms and participate in an engaging activity with their student. Afterward, grandparents are invited to shop at our Book Fair with their student to pick out a new favorite read!
- Important reminders for Grandparents' Day:
- All guests must bring a valid state-issued ID. IDs will be scanned through our Raptor system. We only have one scanner, so to avoid long lines, consider pre-registering so you Visitors Badge is waiting for you upon arrival. Grandparents' Day Pre-Scan
- There will be no lunch visitors on this day to ensure we have plenty of time and space for our special celebration.
- Important reminders for Grandparents' Day:
Book Fair: The Book Fair will run all week, and we invite you to stop by. The fair will stay open late on Thursday evening—a perfect chance to shop after work!
Progress Reports: Be on the lookout for progress reports, which will be sent home with students on Friday.
We are grateful for the role grandparents and families play in shaping the lives of our students. Thank you for helping us make this week unforgettable for our Hirsch community.
As we reflect on all we have to be thankful for, we hope you and your family take a moment to celebrate the connections and milestones that make this season so meaningful.
Best regards,
Principal Patterson

Schools of Choice
Dear 5th Grade Parents:
It's time to start planning for Middle School! Spring ISD offers both choice and program opportunities for students. The goal is to ensure families can find the best fit for their student, whether it’s taking part in a specialty program at their neighborhood campus or applying to one of the district’s schools of choice.
The opportunities to explore different interests and careers are extensive and distinguish Spring ISD as a district of choice with no limits on what students can achieve.
With students at the center of everything we do, we want our families to have options as they look for the right fit for their child. No matter what school your child attends, our mission is always the same: Provide an excellent education that prepares students for lifelong success – in college, career and/or the military.
Learn more about our schools of choice below. Please note, families can apply to multiple schools using a single online application.

Attendance Matters!
Attendance is so important for student success. Hirsch Elementary is committed to encouraging students to come to school everyday. Each grade level is participating in weekly and monthly attendance contests to see who has the highest attendance. Classes and grade levels with the highest attendance will get a reward! Everyday attendance equals everyday success. Thank you for partnering with us for your child's success.
