STEPS TO SIGN UP FOR COLLEGE REP VISITS (DOES NOT APPLY TO MILITARY VISITS):
1. Log into Naviance (Single Sign-On): On the Naviance main page, scroll down to see "What's New". This will have a list of upcoming visits. Click on "More Info" next to the college's name. Then click on "Register".
2. Pick up a pass in the Counseling Office before the visit.
Class of 2024 Future Plans Survey Deadline TODAY!
All seniors are required to complete the ‘EVHS Class of 2024 Future Plans Survey’ in Naviance by 3:00 PM on Friday, May 3rd. The survey is important as it will be used for awards/graduation recognition and reporting your plans for next year.

Seniors: Steps to Requesting Your Final Transcript
All colleges require that you send a final transcript with your graduation date before enrolling. You must request to send your final transcript by noon on June 5th to the college, university, or program you will attend in the fall.

COALITION WEEK: FREE COLLEGE PLANNING SERIES FOR STUDENTS - May 20-23
Students are invited to join UChicago and a variety of their Coalition for Collage partners to learn about the ins and outs of the college admissions process in this year Coalition Week.
From May 20th - 23rd, students can learn about new, helpful college search resources, and celebrate all the hard work they do! All events will be conducted virtually and are FREE.
Monday, May 20th, 6-7pm: Case Studies
This is your chance to see what an application looks like and how applications are reviewed! Together, you and admissions counselors from UChicago and Coalition for College will review applications, and decide who is admitted, waitlisted, or denied admission. See you in the committee room!
You will discuss how essays can add an important perspective to a student???s application and learn how different kinds of essays are considered in a holistic review process.
First Things First is a series all about the importance of and value in being first whether you are going to be the first in your family to attend college, the first to move out of state, or the first to try something completely new and different, these are events for everyone. Join admissions officers and first-generation college students for a conversation on navigating the college search process, discovering your college fit, and finding your college home.
Black Excellence at UChicago is thrilled to host Angie Torain in conversation with Patrick Phillips. Angie Torain is the current Director of Athletics and Recreation at the University of Chicago. Torain provides visionary leadership for the Athletics & Recreation department, which sponsors 20 varsity sports, nearly 40 sports clubs, an intramural sports program with thousands of student participants annually, and the FitChicago program. As a critical advocate for the athletics and fitness opportunities at the University, Torain collaborates with key partners across campus and works with the Alumni Relations and Development office to ensure ongoing philanthropic success. She is also integral to fostering a department that promotes and celebrates all dimensions of difference and diversity.

COAST TO COAST INFORMATION SESSION - MAY 23 - 7 PM
The Coast to Coast College Tour is a joint travel partnership bringing together admissions representatives from Dartmouth College, Northwestern University, Princeton University, the University of California-Berkeley, and Vanderbilt University.
This program will provide you with the opportunity to learn about each individual institution, and receive insight on navigating the selective admissions process.

Minnesota State Week is a great time to explore the 33 colleges and universities that make up Minnesota State. Special campus visit events are planned at all of the Minnesota State campuses. Just contact the colleges or universities you want to visit from the list below.
You can apply for FREE to one or more of the 26 colleges and seven state universities at any time during the week—it’s a great way to save a few bucks and get started on your journey to your dream career!

Apply now for the 2024 Elevation Scholarship!
Ellevetion is awarding ten $2,000 scholarships to deserving EL students as they continue on to higher education.
Applicants must: • Be a high school senior who has been enrolled as an English Language Learner (ELL) at some point during their K-12 education • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four- year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire 2024-2025 academic year

The Easter Lutheran Church Foundation is sponsoring the Kristi Lockrem Scholarship for students with developmental disabilities who are pursuing post-secondary education.

THE MISSY L. OLSON SCHOLARSHIP
The Missy L. Olson Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll in an undergraduate degree program at an Accredited American University or College.
The scholarship award can be used for any school related expenses, such as tuition, books, housing, etc. The scholarship is non-renewable and will only be awarded for the 2024/2025 academic year. A check for the scholarship award will be mailed directly to the winner’s college or university.

MINNESOTA GOLF FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The Minnesota Golf Foundation understands the challenges of the ever-increasing costs to pursue a higher education degree and wants to do its part to help. Since 1998, the Foundation has committed more than $700,000 to make college
more affordable. The Minnesota Golf Foundation welcomes applications for a unique scholarship.
The Jim Mendesh Memorial Scholarship is new in 2024 and is available to students who wish to pursue a certificate or associate degree in a trade or vocation at a Minnesota State College or University. Examples of programs include electrician, construction, HVAC, medical assistant, teacher’s aide,
and many more. The scholarship offers an annual award of $2,500 and is renewable for up to two years.Deadline: May 17, 2024

MBEX / TBG CONSTRUCTION SCHOLARSHIP
Embarking on a career within the construction and building industry presents both incredible opportunities and significant challenges. In recognition of this dynamic landscape, the Minnesota Builders Exchange (MBEX) and its partner, The Builders Group Education Foundation, wants to support and empower the next generation of industry leaders and innovators.
The MBEX / TBG Construction Scholarship will be awarded to multiple students pursuing a construction-related degree at an accredited post-secondary institution in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Scholarship awards range from $500 - $5,000.
Students pursing a specific trade (such as masonry, electrical, carpentry, etc.) are highly encouraged to apply, but *all* types of construction-related fields of study are eligible candidates for a scholarship.

MCA is offering several scholarships to students in a 4-year program or tech/trade school program
· For students in a 4-year program, four scholarships are available in the amount of $1,000; $2,000; $3,000; and $4,000.
· For students in a tech/trade school program, three scholarships are available in the amount of $1,000 each.

Paying for College
American Indian Scholars Program
Beginning in fall 2023, this program provides first-dollar in tuition and fee-free pathway for Minnesotans eligible for resident tuition who are enrolled members or citizens of any federally recognized tribe or Canadian First Nation to attend a Minnesota State institution or the University of Minnesota.
Students not eligible for resident tuition who are enrolled members or citizens of a Minnesota Tribal Nation are also eligible for the program. Learn more at the Minnesota Office of Higher Education.
If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can complete the American Indian Scholars Program Application.
North Star Promise Scholarship Program
Beginning in fall 2024, this program will cover the balance of tuition and fees remaining after other scholarships, grants, stipends, and tuition waivers have been applied for eligible Minnesota residents.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Minnesota Dream Act Application to be considered for this funding.
Eligibility includes:
-A family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) as reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Minnesota Dream Act Application below $80,000.
-Be a Minnesota resident and attend a public college, university, or tribal college in MN

SUMMER ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES!
2024 SUMMER CAMPS - ALEXANDRIA COLLEGE
Each summer high school students have the opportunity to spend time at ATCC learning about the programs we offer and what career options are available. It’s a great way to explore and discover what future possibilities await them.
ST. KATHERINE: LEAD AND INFLUENCE SUMMER CAMP
This FREE, five-day summer workshop empowers high school students entering 11th and 12th grade in the fall semester to see themselves as leaders and learn from women in professional business careers while experiencing life at St. Catherine University’s St. Paul campus.
Each session includes built-in time for activities. Students will learn from experts in a classroom setting and take one trip off campus to visit a local company.

SUMMER ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR MINNESOTA STUDENTS
The Minnesota Office of Higher Education is offering stipends of up to $1,000 for summer learning opportunities to eligible students
Providing access to high-quality summer learning experiences, the Minnesota Office of Higher Education (OHE) is offering stipends to eligible students to attend Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP) participating camps. SAEP provides stipends for low-income students completing grades 3 to 11 to attend approved summer programs offered by postsecondary educational institutions and nonprofits across the state.
To be eligible for a program stipend:
Students must meet family income requirements for free or reduced-priced school meals and, if in grades 7-11, need a minimum of a “C” average in the most recently recorded academic term in the subject area applicable for the summer program of interest. Stipends are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, to cover all or a portion of the direct cost of a participating program paid directly to the program sponsors.

MN BUSINESS VENTURE SUMMER CAMP
MBV is a weeklong business and career development summer camp that brings together students in grades 9-12 to learn business, leadership, and financial literacy skills.
This is a great opportunity for students to network with other students from across the country, hear from business owners, build skills needed for your resume and future job, learn information you’ll need for college applications, and help them learn about the career you’d like in the future.
At MBV students work in small teams or “companies” to create a fictitious product and business plan that is presented at the end of the session, Shark Tank-style. Other activities include guest keynote speakers, games, mock interviews, team-building exercises, breakout sessions, and more!
MBV is the perfect opportunity for students to learn about the jobs of the future, career skills they will need, develop technology skills, and connect with new people. MBV is open to any student in grades 9-12 in the United States.

During these small group sessions, counselors covered a wide range of topics to help juniors navigate the upcoming journey. From understanding college admissions requirements to exploring alternative paths like vocational training or military service, our students gained valuable insights.

PARK NICOLLET'S GROWING THROUGH GRIEF GROUP
Park Nicollet’s Growing Through Grief counselor, Jenny Simmonds, will be offering a weekly grief group for Eastview students who have experienced the death of a significant family member (parent, sibling, caregiver, etc.). If your teen is living with loss and you think they could benefit from participating in a grief group, please contact Molly Wellik at molly.wellik@district196.org and we will connect with your student regarding their interest.
