Narrative
Our primary areas of focus at Riverview this 2021-2022 school year have been on safety and the instruction of priority standards. We have also placed an emphasis on the social and emotional learning needs of our students. Our teachers and interventionists have used prescriptive instruction to maximize learning due to the gaps from the epidemic over the last 2 years. The data below shows the growth our students have made over the past school year.

Title 1 Targeted
We have been fortunate to be designated as a Title 1 Targeted school. Title 1 is a federally funded program designed to assist students in reading and/or math throughout the 2020-2021 school year. The funds enable us to provide additional support for identified students in the areas of reading and math, to purchase supplementary supplies and materials for our students, and to support parent and family engagement. Our program, Learning Experiences in Math and Reading, provides extra assistance during math and reading instruction. The Title 1 teachers work with children in small groups or on an individual basis and we monitor the progress of theses interventions. This instructional support is in addition to what the classroom teacher provides.
Students are identified using end of the year individual assessment scores, teacher judgment information, and parent input.
The classroom teachers work to support Title 1 targeted students in the classroom as well as one of our Title I interventionists. In addition to instructional support, families are also invited to Title I meetings and family nights during the year. More information about Title I is on our school website.
