Please join me today in honoring the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was a champion for peace and justice for all. Let us remember his call for racial equality and fairness, and honor his lessons of peaceful resolution to conflict, which call to mind the words of Jesus: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”

As our nation and indeed, the world, struggles with conflict, division and injustice, let us pray for the wisdom, understanding and determination to come together as one family in Christ, as the beloved sons and daughters of God. And as we commemorate this day, let us reflect on the legacy of Dr. King’s life and recommit ourselves to the Gospel message of love, unity, mutual respect and the dignity of all human life.

Let us carry that message of love forward and work to eradicate the sin of racism, which is always inherently evil. By living the Gospel, we will draw everyone closer to Christ, our Lord, and to our Heavenly Father, the creator of all. And may we never forget the courage and sacrifice of Dr. King and his dream of unity and lasting peace.

The Angel Scholarship Fund

Through the Ohio Catholic Community Foundation’s Angel Scholarship, you can redirect a portion of your state tax liability to support tuition assistance for our students. This means that while you make a donation now, you can claim the amount as a dollar-for-dollar tax credit when filing your state taxes. It’s a wonderful way to give without the extra financial burden. Don't forget, any tax paying Ohioans can make a donation so spread the word to family and friends! For more information or questions about this program, please reach out to Mr. Jeff Flaherty at the parish office.

Here are a few reminders as we move into the inclement weather season:

• Students need to dress warmly. It is important for the students to get outside and engage in physical activity. We will be going out for recess unless the real feel temperature is below 17-20 degrees. If we do need to remain indoors, we have a rotation schedule in place to allow each grade level to get into the gym or media center.
• Doors open at 8:30. Please do not drop students off early, particularly in the extreme cold. Before care is available if needed. Contact the school office for more information on this program.
• Should the need arise to close school due to inclement weather, we will notify parents via our Gradelink text and email system. We will also post our closure on Facebook and Instagram. If you see that Wadsworth Schools are closed, Sacred Heart will also be closed.

1. Pull forward to the sign.
2. Children should exit the vehicle on the left side and never walk between vehicles.
3. If you need to help your child exit the vehicle pull into a parking spot and walk your child to the steps.
4. Only right turns onto Broad Street when exiting the lot.

For Afternoon Pick up:

1. All drivers should exit their vehicle and come to the steps to pick up their child.
2. Traffic will be dismissed once all drivers and students are in their vehicles.
3. Children should not be left unattended on the playground.
