Roadrunner News
Week of: March 10, 2025
Dear Parents,
We hope this message finds you well! We wanted to kindly remind everyone that animals are not allowed on school grounds, even if they are on a leash or being carried. While we understand that pets are beloved members of the family, we want to ensure the safety and comfort of all our students. Some of our students may have a fear of animals, and for others, especially those with special needs, the presence of animals can be unsettling.
Additionally, even well-behaved animals can sometimes act unpredictably, especially when they’re on a leash or in someone’s arms, which could lead to potential safety concerns.
We truly appreciate your understanding and support in keeping our campus safe and welcoming for all students. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
Thank you for your cooperation!
Warm regards,
JoeAnna Hernandez, Principal
~March Into Great Attendance~
Dear Roadrunner Families,
Thank you for your continued commitment to getting students to school on time! We’re thrilled to share that in January, 203 students had fewer than one absence with no tardies or early checkouts. In February, our attendance improved even further, with 226 students having fewer than two absences and maintaining perfect punctuality!
Consistent attendance is essential—being on time and staying for the full school day allows students to build strong habits and engage in valuable learning experiences that can’t be replaced. Your dedication plays a crucial role in your child’s success, and we truly appreciate your efforts!
Thank you for all you do to support our Roadrunners!
Best regards,
Mrs. Hernandez, Principal

Thriver Strength Review: Curiosity
Here are some ways to build the skill of curiosity:
- Ask and answer open-ended questions.
- These might include WHY questions. Ex: WHY is the grass green? (I'll give you a hint... it's because of something called chlorophyll!!!)
- Explore and experiment.
- Consider "I wonder why...." and try to find the answers!
- Seek opportunties to learn new things.
- Go on a nature walk with an adult and explore the world around you!
The Key "Flexibility" is related to the Thriver Trait "Curiosity"
What is Flexibility?
Flexiblity is a willingness to do things differently. Recognize what's not working and be willing to change what you're doing to achieve your goal.
Can you think of a time when something wasn't working and you had to show flexibliity and adjust to fix it?
