BISD Baord Goal 4: Promote a positive and service-oriented culture within the Bonham ISD.

Our kindergarten students made Valentines for the residents at The Wesley House.

Finley-Oates and I.W. Evans hosted a Sweetheart Dance on Friday, February 10.

The dyslexia students perfomed "Elves on Strike" at the end of January. The students had to postpone their Christmas perfomance due to illness.

BISD Board Goal 3: Ensure all students have high levels of academic achievement

with a focus on literacy and mathematics through improved leadership, instruction, support and a climate of continuous improvement.

We have six staff members completing the Reading Academy this year. Per House Bill 3 (HB 3), passed by the 87th Texas Legislature in June of 2019, all kindergarten through third grade teachers and principals must attend a "teacher literacy achievement academy" by the 2022 - 2023 school year. At the end of this school year all current Finley-Oates teachers will have fulfilled the requirements.
