Jag News
Week of 12/4 - 8, 2023-24
Message from the Principal
The 2nd nine weeks is moving fast as there are only 2 weeks of school left before our winter break. Please be sure to keep up with grades, missing assignments, and attendance as we get close to the end of the first semester.
Please be sure and read all the information below regarding Semester Exams and Exemptions! There are helpful hints below on submitting your semester exam exemptions. Window opens on 12/5 at 7 am and closes on 12/7 at 4:30 pm. This is a hard deadline.
For making up attendance credits if you have 10 or more absences in a class, there are only 2 more opportunities to go to Saturday School to regain credits. 12/9 and 1/6 are the last two chances to make up attendance! Please be sure you have these dates saved if you are needing to make up absences. You can sign up in the Main office.
For all Jags in 2023-24, be sure read all of the information below and continue to check your NEISD student email periodically for information.
We are looking forward to a great year for our Jags!
Sincerely,
Gary Comalander - Principal

NEISD Parent/Community meeting 12/12/23
North East ISD staff is offering the public an informative presentation to try to clear up some of the complexities of school accountability.
Our goal is to help you walk away with a better understanding of the changes in the state accountability system, STAAR test administration, and the district rating system.
Whether you are a parent, employee or community member, this affects all of us, especially when misinformation is shared. Let’s learn more together so we can better support our students.

CTJ/NEISD Discipline change E-cigarettes & Vaping
HB 114, requires a student to be removed from class/school and placed in a Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) for possessing, using, selling, giving, or delivering to another person an e-cigarette/vaping device.
This law includes nicotine vape pens or any components of a vaping device.
Nothing is changing with regards to the law and consequences on when a device tests positive for THC. For THC, the 1st offense is a longer recommendation to DAEP and a 2nd offense for THC can be a recommendation of Expulsion from NEISD.
