Message from the Principal's Desk...
Hello Mt. Pleasant!
It is March and we are entering the homestretch into Spring. We are entrenched into our testing season. Several of our ELL students are working their way through ACCESS testing. Next up will be SAS testing in May. A letter will be going home with the information about SAS testing and expectations. It is very important that your student gets plenty of rest and eats breakfast. A lot of students have anxiety over taking a test, so the best way to mange this anxiety is to practice some relaxation techniques with deep breathing and taking a mindful minute or two before taking on a large task, like a test.
During the month of February, the PTO hosted a movie night and we watched Wall-E. The PTO supplied popcorn and water for all to enjoy while curling up on their blanket or chair to watch the movie.
Valentines Day brought in the PTO who graciously supplied and popped popcorn for all students to eat for a snack for free. They also sold Smencils for the students to receive on Valentine's Day and made sure that every student received at least one to take home.
We have some exciting events coming our way for the month of March as well. Be sure to check them out below!
Snow Gear Reminder
With all of the freshly fallen snow, please remind your child that in order to play in the snow at recess, they must bring and wear all of their snow gear. If they do not wear the snow gear, the students will be asked just to play on the blacktop and to stay out of the snow. Snow gear includes... coat, snow pants, hat, mittens or gloves and boots. If your child does not possess these items, please contact our school counselor, Paula Daneau and she may be able to help them.
Thank you!
Bridging the Gap in the 603
Dear Families,
Mt. Pleasant is currently participating in Bridging the Gap in the 603: Pathways to Literacy Proficiency, an initiative led by the NH Department of Education aimed at improving literacy skills for all students.
We are conducting a brief survey to ensure that we're providing the best possible support for your family's literacy needs and would greatly appreciate your input. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts with us.
Your feedback is incredibly valuable and will be important in shaping future literacy efforts. Please rest assured that your responses will remain confidential.
Thank you sincerely for your time and participation!
Warm regards,
Jacqueline Okonak, Principal
Sarah Caouette, Asst. Principal

After completing the course, everyone that attended all 4 classes, received their very own brand new slow cooker to try out the meals they learned about. Thank you Yiraima for organizing this and bringing our families into our building for such a great class!

Dismissal
Please note that student dismissal is at 2:40pm. Please do not enter the playground before 2:35pm as we may still be holding classes on the playground until this time. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Check out our Car Drop Off Lane
As parking is so limited around our building, we are utilizing the car drop off lane behind the school on Abbott Street this year for the mornings only. Please note that the right hand side of Abbott St. is a Car Drop Off Lane Only. Please do not park in this lane. There will be staff members stationed behind the school starting at 8am to welcome your children. Please have your child prepared to leave the vehicle on the right hand side, so as soon as you pull up the child may easily exit the vehicle and the car lane may keep moving forward.
If you would like to walk your student up to the school, please find an appropriate place to park and avoid this lane.
Thank you for your cooperation!
