Superintendent Message
As we step into March, I want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and community. The school year continues to move quickly, and I am proud of the achievements and progress we have made together.
This past month, our students have excelled in both academics and athletics. A special congratulations to our math team for earning 1st place in the Frisco League Math Competition! Their hard work, problem-solving skills, and dedication to excellence truly set them apart. Additionally, our Richland Lady Bears basketball team had an incredible season, finishing as district runners-up. Their perseverance, teamwork, and determination were inspiring to watch!
Beyond these accomplishments, March brings the promise of spring and new opportunities for learning, growth, and community involvement. As we prepare for the final stretch of the school year, I encourage everyone to stay engaged, support our students, and celebrate their successes.
Thank you for your continued support of our district, students, and staff. Together, we make Richland R-IV a place where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Go Bears!

College and Career Fair a Huge Success!
On February 28th, the College and Career Fair was a great success, bringing together numerous opportunities for students to explore their future options. With 32 booths set up for students to visit, the event offered a wide variety of resources, including information on colleges, career paths, internships, and vocational programs.
We were excited to have Laquey attend as well, giving students the chance to learn more about the different pathways available to them, whether they're considering higher education, entering the workforce, or exploring trade skills. The event provided a valuable chance for students to engage with representatives from different industries and institutions, ask questions, and make connections that will help them as they plan their next steps after graduation.
Thank you to all the participants and attendees for making the College and Career Fair a memorable and informative experience!
Spring Sports Are Underway!
Spring sports are officially underway! Our student-athletes are hitting the field and track, with baseball, track, and soccer in full swing. We wish all the teams the best of luck this season!
FFA Contest Season Begins
The FFA contest season is also in full gear! Students are gearing up for a variety of events, showcasing their skills and knowledge in agricultural areas. We’re excited to see our FFA members compete and represent our school with pride.

From the Desk of Mrs. Mauss HS Counselor
I can't thank our local businesses enough for continuing to support our Richland students through attending our College and Career Fair, sponsoring scholarship opportunities, and supporting our FAFSA Frenzy Night! At the end of February, 7-12 grade students, as well as other Frisco League students, attended our College and Career Fair to explore numerous postsecondary opportunities. This month, we will be continuing with that same momentum as we continue to tackle ICAPs! Students have been introduced to multiple avenues for academic and career planning and this will keep continuing as we near the end of the year! Senior scholarship season is still underway and seniors have access to those in their Google Classroom, their senior box at the school, or are always welcome to stop by my office. Sophomore and Juniors were introduced to the world of GOCAPS this week and we will have interviews for the program starting next week, so parents/guardians, watch for information to come from your student regarding the application process which will follow interviews this year! WCC acceptance letters have been sent out to those students who were admitted into their program, but there are some openings still available so if your student (incoming Juniors and Seniors only) has any interest in attending WCC next year, please encourage them to come see me as soon as possible! Finally, the Transition Assistance Program is in full swing as I pop into the Elementary school and work with Ms. Williams to prepare 5th and 6th grade students for transitioning to middle school!
