Coyote Update
Chandler Early College High School Vol 3 Issue 5

November is National Gratitude Month
I am challenging our Coyote family to embrace the power of gratitude. Gratitude is more than simply saying thank you. It is shifting from focusing on the negative to appreciating what is positive in our lives. As I reflect back on the past 2.5 years that I have been at CEC, I realize how fulfilled I am with my CEC family and how appreciative I am that I was given the opportunity to have all of you in my life. Our students are amazing. Every one of them brings a smile to my face. Our staff is fantastic and by far are the best of the best! And our parents...without your support and partnership we would not be where we are today! I am truly blessed to walk alongside of all of you every day! I hope this month finds you surrounded by family and friends with lots of love. Thank you for entrusting us with your children.

Yearbook Club
Yearbook is looking for pictures of our students.
1. Students with their pets.
2. Students doing all of their cool things outside of CEC. Are you in a band? Play a club sport? Volunteer?
3. Students doing silly, but appropriate things.
We'd love to see it!
Please email pictures directly to Ms. Ramirez at ramirez.cassandra@cusd80.com.
Seniors! It's not too early to start thinking about Senior Quotes and Pictures. Your quote is due before winter break and should be inspirational and be seen as an opportunity to provide words of encouragement to the classes that will follow you. Some guidelines:
- Nothing that could be considered offensive, questionable, or inappropriate for a school setting
- No language that denigrates another personโs character, ethnicity, religious/political beliefs, sexuality, gender, physical or mental ability, etc.
- No derogatory comments about the school, students, faculty, or staff members
- No special characters/emoji
PRESALE ORDERS WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON.

Did you know?
Chandler-Gilbert Community College is located on ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Akimel O'Odham, who have honored and cared for this landscape for a millennia. The Akimel O'Odham share their land with their allies, the Pee-Posh in the Gila River Indian Community. Their Traditional Knowledges have allowed them to live in bountifully in and harmoniously with, the Sonoran Desert. CGCC thank the original caretakers of the land and pledges to continue to partner with the Gila River Indian Community, and other Indigenous peoples to build and sustain ethical relationships with the Indigenous peoples and the land which our work takes place. CGCC recognizes their knowledge and their right to self-determination and sovereignty as Indigenous Nations, and acknowledges the strength and plurality of Arizona, with 22 federally recognized tribes.

Infinite Campus Parent/Student Login
If you have not done so already, please log into your Infinite Campus account and update your annual student registration (OLR). You will find this option in the left index under "More". Updating this annually is extremely important so we have current information on your household. This is also where you can agree or disagree for publicity, internet access and most importantly providing your child with Tylenol should they become ill. Please DO NOT start a New Student registration.
We have 39 students who do not have an updated OLR. If you need help resetting your password, please call the front office at 480.224.3060.
Under "More" you will also need to update the Student Device Agreement. This is currently available for you to complete and must be done on a laptop or PC. Do not use your mobile device to complete this agreement.

- Students arriving late or leaving early must sign in/out at the front office and have a parent or legal guardian call the front desk to excuse at 480.224.3060.
- No student will be permitted to leave campus without parent verification.
- Students are responsible for making arrangements to make up time missed, as that impacts student progress here at CEC more than any other factor. Please make sure to check Google classroom.
Unexcused Absences are considered truancies. the parent is notified whenever a student is absent. Work cannot be made-up for credit on unexcused absences.
Tardy to Class
- Students are expected to be seated in their classrooms ready to begin class work at the start of each period.
- A tardy is defined as "not being in an assigned seat at the minute".
- Student's who have habitual tardies may be dropped from their class. If tardies are in first hour, student's schedules may be changed to add to a class later in the day.
- If your child is tardy, please call the front office to excuse them.
Consequences for Absences

- After 8 absences per quarter, student will be issued a second warning that they can be dropped from their in-person class.
- After 10 absences, family will receive a 10-Day Attendance Letter (10 consecutive absences, the state requires schools to automatically withdraw the student, please make sure to be in contact with Mrs. Scaringelli or Mrs. King)
- After 12 absences, students will have received their final warning
- 13 absences is considered missing 1/3 of the curriculum. In-person classes will be dropped and student's will be placed in a lift lab equivalent.
