Mobile Dentist
Our school has partnered with Smile Programs, the mobile dentists, to offer convenient dental care right here at school. The mobile dentist provides a full range of services including exams, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride, sealants, and, when needed, fillings—all in the familiar school setting. Best of all, if your child is insured with Medicaid/CHIP, there’s usually no cost! They also offer options for private insurance and affordable self-pay. The Mobile Dentist will visit West Elementary on February 6. Sign your child up today by visiting www.MobileDentists.com or by returning the permission form sent home earlier this week.
Unified Sports Tournament
Midview High School had the privilege of hosting its first-ever Unified Sports Tournament, featuring basketball teams from Buckeye, Strongsville, Max S. Hayes, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, Garrett Morgan, and of course, our very own Middies!
From impressive ball-handling skills to layups, each athlete truly brought their A-game! Our gyms were filled with incredible moments of teamwork, sportsmanship, and, most importantly, fun. It was a day that truly highlighted the power of inclusion and the joy of competing together.
Mrs. Kaiser's class had the opportunity to go to the high school to attend the event. Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and cheered on the teams. Your support made this event truly special!
Polar Express Event
Our students recently embarked on an exciting challenge: to earn 15,000 Middie tickets in just two weeks. We're thrilled to announce that they didn't just reach this goal – they zoomed past it, collecting an incredible 24,333 tickets! To reward their hard work, we hosted a special movie event featuring "The Polar Express." Students enjoyed the film while cozying up with hot chocolate and cookies, making the experience truly magical.
This celebration was a perfect way to recognize our students' great behavior and hard work during the first part of December. It was heartwarming to see our school community come together and share in some holiday joy. We're so proud of their teamwork and positive attitudes!
Winter Spirit Week
Our elementary schools wrapped up the year with a joyful bang! The last week before our holiday break featured a fun spirit week. Each day brought a new theme, giving students and staff the chance to showcase their holiday spirit and creativity.
Our festive spirit week kicked off with merry pajama day, followed by holiday sparkle day. Midweek, we wore our coziest flannels, then showed off colorful winter hats and socks. We wrapped up the week with the ever-popular ugly sweater day. Thank you to everyone for their participation!
Cookie Party with Mrs. Kaiser's Class
Mrs. Kaiser's elementary class and Mr. Dickson's middle school class joined forces for a festive Christmas Cookie Decorating party on Tuesday.
In preparation for the event, Mr. Dickson's students baked sugar cookies the day before, while Mrs. Kaiser's class whipped up batches of colorful frosting. Each class followed their recipes carefully, working together to create their tasty contributions. The students engaged in various activities, including identifying ingredients, measuring precisely, mixing thoroughly, and, of course, enjoying a little taste-testing along the way!
