Message From Onondaga Road School Principal
Dear Onondaga Road Families,
Our students have done a great job settling into their classroom routines. We are using "Wildcat Wows" to reinforce positive behaviors on display at school. This is a building-wide reinforcement so our students can earn Wildcat Wows from all of the adults in the building and it is a great way to celebrate students being responsible, respectful, and safe. Some of the ways our students have earned Wildcat Wows range from helping a classmate, following expectations to working hard on school work. Wildcat Wow winners have been helping with morning announcements.
The Second Step focus area for the past week has been "It is okay to make mistakes." We tell our students that there are great learning opportunities when we make mistakes. When your child is doing something challenging and makes a mistake, Second Step recommends asking the following questions:
- What do you think isn't working?
- What is a small change you can make the next time?
- What are some helpful thoughts you can say to yourself to help you keep trying?
Our Grade 4 students were treated to an incredible performance by the Grammy and Emmy award-winning string trio, Time for Three! The performance was engaging and inspired our future musicians.
Respectfully,
Michelle Collier

Wildcat Wows
Our students earn Wildcat Wows when they are being responsible, being respectful, and being safe. All of these things help to ensure that we are all ready to learn.
Hallway Displays
Our classrooms have some very creative ways to decorate our hallways. It is great to see all of the student work on display.
