Info for Middle School Winter Sports
Official Middle School (7th/8th Grade) Winter Season for Girls Basketball & Boys/Girls Wrestling Starts on Friday November 15th, 2024.
***Middle School Boys Basketball will start in Mid-December. More Info to come on MS Boys Basketball***
Preseason Workouts for Girls Basketball will Start November 11th 2:20pm-4:30 pm in North Gym.
Workouts will be held Nov 11th-14th.
(8th grade and Scott will use Bus 124 to travel to North for Practice) Parents will pick up student-athletes at North.
OFFICIAL Practice/Try Outs for Girls Basketball will begin Friday, Nov. 15th 2:20-4:30 pm in North Gym.
Middle School Girls/Boys Wrestling will have workouts on Nov 5th, Nov 7th, Nov 12 and Nov 14th 2:30-4:30 in the 8/9 wrestling room. Officially will start on Friday Nov 15th 5:30 pm- 7:30 pm will officially start practice 8/9 wrestling room.

Registration and Physical Info
Keep In Mind to be able to Participate: Online Registration and Physicals Are NEEDED!
For anyone interested in participating in a WINTER sport in grades 7-8 there a number items needed prior to being able to participate:
-Registering for the sport online
- Proper medical clearance (PIAA Physical) to participate through the Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Exam.
In order to ensure that everything is submitted please complete the online registration process as thoroughly as possible at the following links:

Please remember that if your child is planning to participate in a PIAA sport, he or she must have a completed Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Exam (doctor physical) prior to any type of participation on the first official day of the season (including any try-outs).
Prior to any student participating in Practices, Inter-School Practices, Scrimmages, and/or Contests, at any PIAA member school in any school year, the student is required to (1) complete a Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (CIPPE); and (2) have the appropriate person(s) complete the first six Sections of the CIPPE Form. Upon completion of Sections 1 and 2 by the parent/guardian; Sections 3, 4, 5 and 6 by the student and parent/guardian; and Section 7 by an Authorized Medical Examiner (AME), those Sections must be turned in to the Principal, or the Principal’s designee, of the student's school for retention by the school. The CIPPE may not be authorized earlier than June 1st and shall be effective, regardless of when performed during a school year, until the latter of the next May 31st or the conclusion of the spring sports season.

Section 2 - Certification of Parent/Guardian
Section 3 - Understanding of Risk of Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury
Section 4 - Understanding of Sudden Cardiac Arrest Symptoms and Warning Signs
Section 5 - Supplemental Acknowledgement, Waiver and Release: COVID-19
The following sections will need to be a printed copy for the doctor to review:
Section 6 - Health History (completed for the doctors review at the appointment)
Section 7 - The Certification of Authorized Medical Examiner

Once the doctor has cleared the student-athlete and signed section 7, these forms will then be uploaded by the CASD into the student’s account in FAMILY ID (online registration platform).
In addition to the CIPPE online forms all other online forms will also be required which also includes the Raider Packet that contains our extra-curricular code of conduct and related policies.
Sports Physicals - At this Time Physicals will NOT be offered through School Nurses.
