Second Semester Has Begun

First semester just wrapped up and we are proud to have 62 Panthers on honor roll, having earned a 3.0 GPA or higher! If your student is in that group, give them a high five and join us for treats at the Honor Roll Celebration this Friday, Feb 7 at 1 pm.

Thank you to all the families who are calling in when their student(s) is absent; remember, families have 3 school days to excuse an absence at school. You can also email Ms Amanda at alagerquist@whitepass.k12.wa.us or send a note with your student.

As the winter round of flu and colds are upon us, please make sure to keep students home if they have a fever and/or are vomiting. Drink lots of water and wash your hands!

Senior events are being finalized, and we will have a senior parent meeting on Tues, Feb 11 to review all things graduation related. We are also inviting juniors and junior families to get a preview of their senior year. Pizza will be served!

Spring sports start next month, and we hope to see all of our Panthers turned out for spring sports!

Feb 6: Professional Day (juniors and Seniors)

Feb 17: Presidents Day Holiday, no school

Feb 27 and 28: Mid Winter Break, no school (or snow day makeups if needed)

March 3: Start of HS Spring Sports (HS baseball and fastpitch, JH and HS track/field)

March 10: Start of JH track

April 7-11: Spring Break, no school

April 16/17: First Aid/CPR training, juniors and seniors

This is the final week of regular season basketball games. As we close out the winter sports season, it's time to get signed up for Spring Sports. MWP offers track and field (all grades), baseball (grades 8-12) and fastpitch softball (grades 8-12). Students need to have a current physical form on file with the office.

Senior Parent Meeting! Tuesday, Feb 11, 5:30 pm. Information about all end of year events, the WP Scholarship and post-graduation resources will be presented. Junior parents are invited too!

Senior Project has changed! This important part of the senior year will still include components to get students ready for life after high school (resume, interview skills, a presentation). Interviews will be scheduled in late March.

Look for the Senior Calendar of Events later this month ; this will have all the important events for the final semester of your high school career.

Mrs Foley in the GEARUP office has a supply of clothing, shoes and personal hygiene items. This is free and confidential; your student can stop by to see her or the office staff if anything is needed. All of our teachers have access to school supplies as well.
