Please fill out this year's Blended Learning Form ASAP!
The 2024-2025 Blended Learning Agreement gives your student access to school internet as well as a Chromebook for them to use. To fill out this form, you will need your student’s ID number (aka their lunch number). Feel free to reach out if you are unsure of this number. To prevent any delays in providing your student with school technology access, please have this form submitted prior to the start of school.
Student schedules will be available to view online on Infinite Campus student and parent portals @ 12 PM on Friday August 30th. Paper copies of schedules will be distributed to incoming 6th graders and new 7th and 8th graders during new student orientation. Every student will receive a paper copy of their schedule during our opening advisory period on the first day of school.
If you do not have access to Infinite Campus, please call the main office to get your parent portal set up. Contact information is always at the bottom of this newsletter.

We know that one of the most stressful parts of becoming a middle schooler is figuring out how to quickly and successfully open a combination lock. In order to help your child get ready to use one daily, we recommend that you practice! New students will have the opportunity to try their combinations during new student orientation, but if you have an extra lock hanging around, give them a chance to practice with it. It will reduce anxiety on the first day and help their transition go smoothly!

Snow Club
We are looking for one Snow Club lead advisors and one assistant advisor or the 24-25 season! These could be dedicated parents or staff members. Advisor perks include:
- Lead advisors for schools with over 30 students will receive a family season pass (available for immediate family up to 4 members, or single adult season pass) for the 2024/2025 season. (One lead advisor perk per Club regardless of participating in 1 or 2 sessions)
- For groups with 30 students or more, an additional single adult pass will be available for an assistant advisor.

OEMS Cross Country Registration
This is just a reminder that the Cross Country parent/coach meeting is happening on August 27th @ 5:30 in the OEMS gym. We hope to see you there!
There are still openings in 7th & 8th grade Cross Country. Please contact Mrs. Pioro if you would like to be added to the list. Do so quickly, as it will fill up.
Garden Crew
Garden Crew has continued to meet Mondays at 9 AM in the school garden. Students have been harvesting raspberries, tomatoes, garlic, and more! If you would like to join, feel free to stop by! If you have questions, please contact Ms. Vang at Danielle.smilanich@isd709.org. See you there!
Knowledge Bowl
Knowledge Bowl is a general knowledge "Jeopardy-style" team open to grades 6-8. There are 3 regular season meets and one optional playoff. If your child is interested, they will take a placement test during the 2nd week of school.
