A Message from The Head Raptor
As the leaves begin to change and we embrace the crisp air of fall, I want to take a moment to reflect on our exciting start to the school year. It’s hard to believe that we’re already into October! Our students have been engaged in learning, exploring new ideas, and building friendships. I am incredibly proud of their enthusiasm and dedication.

Academic Highlights
We are excited about our new curriculums that are engaging your students in fun learning. Amplify Science, a phenomena-based program, blends hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools to empower students to think, read, write, and argue like real scientists. Being a Writer brings opportunities for students to hear, discuss, and analyze mentor texts, and incorporate elements of author’s craft, genre, and organization into their own writing. I encourage you to engage in discussions at home about what they’re learning. Your support makes a significant difference! P.S. Please help your student complete their 20 minutes of reading each night. This extra practice makes a big impact!
Community Involvement
We are grateful for the continued support of our parents and community members. If you’re looking for ways to get involved, consider volunteering for our upcoming events or joining our PTO. Your contributions help enrich our school environment.
Health and Safety Reminders
As we move into the colder months, please remember to dress your children warmly and encourage them to practice good hygiene. We want to keep our school community healthy and thriving!
Thank you!
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our school. I’m excited for what this fall has in store for our students and community. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Wishing you all a wonderful fall season!
Warm regards,
Ms. Courtney Schultz
SFA (Success For All)
October has arrived and with it has come cooler weather, students who are settled into their reading groups, and a new look to our Read and Respond for Riverview! 😁 The Read and Respond sheets are now blue for grades 1-5 and are the same whether the child is in reading roots or reading wings. We are continuing to ask students to read 4 nights each week but now students will have from Monday of each week until the Monday of the next week to complete their reading. After reading, each student is expected to record a highlight on their blue Read and Respond sheet. Examples can be found on the sheet attached to the Read and Respond form or by clicking here.
Kindergarten Read and Respond sheets will be gold and will start coming home with the start of the next unit.
Hopefully, as the year started, you were able to build routines in your household such as a special time each day designated for reading. This can be right after school, before bed, or even in the car depending on what works best for your family. Reading will not only enhance academic skills but also can open a door to imagination, creativity, and critical thinking. Your involvement and encouragement make a significant difference in their learning journey! Thank you for your continued support!

October Lockdown Drill
As part of our commitment to ensuring a safe learning environment for our students, we will be conducting a lockdown drill during the month of October. This drill is an important part of our emergency preparedness plan and helps to ensure that students and staff know how to respond in the unlikely event of a real emergency.
What to Expect:
- The drill will take place during school hours.
- Students will practice securing their classrooms and following safety protocols.
- Staff will guide students calmly through the process, emphasizing that this is a practice exercise.
Our Commitment: The safety of our students is our top priority. We regularly review and update our emergency procedures to ensure we are prepared for any situation. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the school office.
Thank you for your support and partnership in keeping our school safe.
