Falcon Fine Arts
Art
On Saturday, 12 of our Falcon artists competed in the annual Jr. VASE (Visual Art Scholastic Event) ontest. We came home with a total of 13 finalists and 2 platinum medals. This is the highest score you can receive in the competition! A big congratulations goes out to our Art teachers and the following Falcons:
Band
The Woodridge Forest Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band recently performed at the Region 33 UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation. They both performed really well and took home “sweepstakes” which means all 6 judges gave them a superior rating! Congrats to the Falcon Band!
Teacher Spotlight
Mrs. Morgan
Hi there! I'm Dena Morgan, and I've been teaching Special Education at Woodridge Forest Middle School for five years now. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and my Masters in Special Education from Sam Houston State University. Being a parent to a child with Autism has given me a unique perspective, not only understanding the needs of students but also those of their parents. Outside of school, I'm proud to say I have a daughter who bowls collegiately at William Smith College in New York and a son who plays golf at the University of Nebraska. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Woodridge family!
Mr. Perez
Hello, I am Robert Perez! This is my second year at Woodridge and my 9th year in education. Currently, I am one of the Investigating Careers teachers for 7th & 8th graders. My previous experience includes 7th grade ELA, Intro to Spanish, and a Media Specialist position. Before I became a teacher I worked in the hospitality industry for 10 years and sales for four years. My family and I live in Kingwood where my wife is a first grade teacher and our three boys attend school. I love traveling, cooking, and being a chauffeur for my kids' various extracurricular activities. I am so thankful and fortunate to be a part of WFMS these past couple of years and I look forward to many more! Falcons Lead the Way!
Mr. Donohoo
Howdy! My name is David Donohoo, and I teach 8th Grade U.S. History. This is my second year at Woodridge Forest Middle School, and my seventeenth year of teaching; all of it has been with New Caney ISD. I love learning about history and geography, and sharing it with others. My wife and I enjoy taking road trips, especially to National Park Service sites. Our goal is to visit all 50 states and all 429 NPS sites. So far, we have visited 40 states and 229 NPS sites! We even have a travel podcast about our road adventures called The Roaming Buffalo. I enjoy incorporating my travel pictures and stories into lessons to help students get a more personal connection to American History.
