From the Tech Department
Cold weather can impact your iPad's performance and integrity. To avoid potential damage, it is strongly advised not to leave your computer in your car.
Some of the reasons include:
Battery performance: Cold weather can make iPad batteries drain faster and may even prevent them from working properly.
Condensation: When a cold iPad is moved to a warmer place, moisture can form inside it, which might damage the parts.
Hard drive issues: If an iPad has a hard drive, very cold temperatures can make it harder for the drive to spin and work properly.
Screen problems: The screen of iPads can become slow to respond or might even freeze up in cold conditions.
Over all, keeping iPads warm helps them work better.
Chess Club will meet on the following Mondays: Jan.13 and Feb. 10 from 3:20-4:20 p.m.
If you are interested, please pick up an application in the MS office. Bring the completed form back to the office.

Contests
Calling all 6 - 8 Artists!
Students from kindergarten through eighth grade are welcome to create artwork using the “beautiful wind energy” theme for the next National Wind Energy Art Challenge. Four winning entries will be displayed for thousands of industry leaders at a trade show in May 2025—submit your art by Feb. 28, 2025.
Calling All Artists
The South Dakota Department of Transportation and South Dakota Pilots Association are seeking students to enter the 2025 International Aviation Art Contest. The theme is Women with Wings and we would like to invite students ages 6 - 17 to submit artwork inspired by the daring women who have defied society's expectations, taking to the air and proving that the sky is a place for everyone. All artwork must be 11 3/4 by 16 1/2 inches or the nearest possible equivalent in size to be considered for the contest. Prizes will be awarded for 1st - 3rd place. All entries must be received by January 7, 2025. There is more information in the office.
Staff Member of the Month
Do you know a staff member that goes above and beyond to be kind and helpful? Please, nominate them for the PTSA staff member of the month. Nomination forms can be found in the office.
Safety
Absolutely no medication on your person, over the counter or otherwise. All medication must be given through the nurse's office.
Backpacks are to be left in your lockers. Our classrooms are very small and backpacks clutter the aisle. It is a safety thing. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
