Greetings DCA Students & Families,
Happy December! As we embark on the winter season and holidays, I encourage you to take time to share and reflect about your child's educational progress and journey as well as plan some family weekend fun!

Characteristics of a Successful DCA Student
Be a self-motivated and self-disciplined individual.
Enjoy working independently.
Be willing to ask for help.
Have good time-management skills.
Be able to meet deadlines for schoolwork.
Communicate any questions or concerns to the teacher, either online or face-to-face.
Feel comfortable expressing themselves in writing using standard English.
Like to get things done today and not tomorrow.
Not miss the daily face-to-face interaction with instructors and classmates.
Not give up easily, even when confronted with obstacles.
Be willing and able to commit to five hours per week per course.
Agree that online courses can be more challenging than face-to-face classes.
Have reliable Internet access.
Be comfortable in a "virtual environment" - email, sending attachments, online discussions, etc.
Not be afraid to try new things.

Everybody Belongs Night
The DWHS Best Buddies Club is thrilled to invite you to join us for DWHS Best Buddies inaugural "Everybody Belongs," basketball game in partnership with the DWHS Girls Varsity Basketball team!
The event will take place on December 10th when the basketball team will be taking on Penn Wood High School! This night promises to be filled with basketball, fun, and, most importantly, inclusion and friendship.

Brandywine Virtual Academy Information
Brandywine Virtual Academy (BVA) Partnership - Grades K-6 ONLY
We are partnering with the Brandywine Virtual Academy (BVA) within the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) to provide instruction and teachers for students in grades K-6 who wish to learn online. Students will follow the school year calendars provided by the BVA.
***Virtual Voyagers Club
Virtual Voyagers hosts monthly events where students converse, connect, collaborate, and create. Virtual event themes include family & community events, special guests, game days, specials activities (art, music, movement), and STEM opportunities.
