The Rhodes Ahead
Jan. 31, 2025
From Mrs. Rhodes
As we celebrate Catholic schools week, I often wish you could see what happens in these classrooms. As teachers plan for lessons, they work to share their faith. Teachers have committed to growing in the foundation stones to help the students grow in theirs. I hear from our School of Faith teachers how it is such a joy to lead our teachers in our sessions. Each session feels like a mini retreat to them because they see the openness and sharing for growth. Here are our three year goals for the school that the school leadership team set to help us step up the ladder to being even closer to the Catholic School that Jesus dreamed of at the all school Mass this week. The goals are:
Catholic Faith Passionately Lived by Teachers and Students
Faculty and Families have Embraced Integrating Faith in all Academics
Students, Families and Teachers are Engaged in Parish and Community Service
All teachers are Growing in 5 Foundation Stones Through their rule of Life
Lumen Accreditation in Place
Religious Sisters Working in School
School Day starts with Mass
School Basement Finished
Preschool Expanded
These will be broken into steps for each quarter to ensure that we achieve them. We will stretch ourselves and the students to make the progress needed to see what Mark's Gospel today says:
26He said, “This is how it is with the kingdom of God;* it is as if a man were to scatter seedj on the land
27and would sleep and rise night and day and the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how.
28Of its own accord the land yields fruit, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.
29And when the grain is ripe, he wields the sickle at once, for the harvest has come.”
30k He said, “To what shall we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use for it?
31It is like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on the earth.
32* But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade.”
Thank you for being part of our journey.
Strength in Surrender,
Kathy Rhodes
