Kindergarten Enrollment for Fall 2025 - Opens December 2nd
Do you have a friend or neighbor with a 4 or 5 year old child? Will their child be going to kindergarten next fall? Help us spread the word that Kindergarten Enrollment for 2025 opens on December 2nd. Feel free to direct interested families to the following website for additional information: Kindergarten Informational Page
Rockstar Meadowview Employee:
Would you like to nominate your child’s teacher or another Meadowview staff member for being an absolute Rockstar at MVE? Click on the link below to share the staff member’s name and a message about what makes the nominee such a Rockstar! Thank you for taking the time to share your message of appreciation!
Emergency Closings: When emergency closings occur due to inclement weather, the Superintendent will begin the decision making process as early as 4am. A final decision will be determined no later than 6:30 am. If the district decides to close for safety reasons, announcements will be made on WCCO radio and the following television stations WCCO, KSTP, KARE, and FOX. The closing will also be published on the school district web page, www.farmington.k12.mn.us. Parents/Guardians will also receive an automated phone call via the School Messenger service.
Literacy Fun for the Holiday Break!
Over the holiday break turn your car ride into a phonemic adventure by playing one of the following games:
- Rhyme Time Road Trip - Choose a word and have everyone take turns coming up with words that rhyme. Even non-sense words are good practice.
- Alphabet I Spy – Challenge your child to find objects or signs that start with each letter of the alphabet. For example, “I spy with my little eye something that starts with the ‘b’ sound”.
- Clapping Syllables – Turn any word into a rhythmic experience by clapping out the syllables. Just look around and name something you see. Have your child repeat the word and clap out how many syllables they hear. Counting syllables helps build an understanding of the structure of words. For an extra challenge, have your child clap each sound in the word.

Health Office Looking for Donations
Nurse Jill and Nurse Tammy are looking for gently used pants for the Health Office. Leggings, sweatpants, or pants with drawstrings are the ask. Please do not send jeans or khaki type pants as these are difficult to fit a wide variety of students. We appreciate the help!
Meadowview Parent Teacher Partnership NEWS
Come join us for our monthly PTP meeting! Monday, December 2 from 6-7@ the Farmington VFW. We’ll review our finances, hear about any school funding requests, and talk about the upcoming school movie night. With the holidays approaching, we want to mix things up a bit and meet at the Farmington VFW. The VFW in Farmington has supported funding a few things at our school (rubberized playground surface and a carnival bounce house), so we like to visit them from time to time. We will hold our normal meeting in their meeting space and stay to socialize for a bit. All are welcome!
There will be no P.I.E. (Parents In Education) volunteering after this meeting.

Forgotten Items Cart
iPads, water bottles, instruments, lunches, and more! All things forgotten by students each day.
When bringing in a forgotten item, please place item on our *NEW* Forgotten Items Cart. The cart is positioned right outside the office door, please add a post-it and your student's name and teacher (if known). No need to come into the office! This cart will be checked throughout the day and items will be delivered in a timely manner.
Lunch Visitors
Meadowview Elementary welcomes visitors for lunch with our students. Lunch times are listed below.
A couple of reminders:
- please use Door #1 and sign in at the office
- while you may bring food in for your student, food should not be shared with other students at any time
- when students are dismissed for recess, please return to the office to sign out, visitors are not able to be on the playground or in other areas of the building (ex: hallways and classrooms)
Arriving Late or Leaving Early
When your student is arriving to school after the 7:40am late bell or leaving before the 2:10pm dismissal bell an adult must sign them in/out in the office. Please come to the office through Door #1.
When students arrive late their attendance will be updated, lunch count taken, and a pass given for their teacher. This allows the teacher to know the student has been checked in and attendance has been updated.
When students are picked up early please plan for an extra 5 minutes, it is sometimes difficult to track down a classroom in the building and the extra time allows for everyone to not be rushed. When you arrive we will call for the student, this allows the learning to continue as long as possible. Letting your student's teacher know ahead of time is helpful so they can be packed up and ready when we call.
As always, thank you for your partnership.
Important School Information
Meadowview School Hours
7:25am - first bell rings, doors unlock for students to enter the building
7:40am - last bell rings, learning begins

Online Attendance Form
Is your student ill? Do they have an appointment and will be late to school? Planning a vacation? All of these situations and more can now be reported to the Meadowivew Office through our online attendance form! Head over to the Meadowview Home Page and on the left hand side find the Student Absence Form in the Quick Links.
Attendance Tip!
Getting to school on time is just as important as being at school. Research shows that continued tardiness leads to poor attendance. Many of the most important parts of a student's day happen within the first 15 minutes. This is often when they have a time to socialize with their peers, orient themselves for the day, take care of necessary business, and connect with their teacher before the day starts. Never underestimate the power of the first 15 minutes of school!
End of Day Routine
Please make sure your child's teacher has an accurate, up-to-date plan for your child's dismissal at the end of the day.
When changes are needed, please communicate those changes with your child's teacher prior to the start of the school day. We cannot always guarantee teachers will see emails during the work day (as it depends on the activities they have planned with the students).
For EMERGENCY CHANGES, please communicate with the teacher and call the front office no later than 2pm. Changes to end of day routines are difficult for students and teachers. If at all possible please change YOUR routine instead of your students routine.
