Around the School
- More Honor! On Monday, the World Languages Department held their annual induction ceremony. The ceremony featured several student speakers who addressed the commitment to communication and understanding required by these honor societies. It was a powerful testimony to the dedication of our students and staff! Kudos! See pics here.
- Costume Drama! Seniors took to video to explain the "Halloween Rules!" See the video in homeroom or view it here! See written rules here.
- Vision Quest: Join Key Club in supporting the Lions Club Eyeglass Recycling Program by donating your gently used eyeglasses! Together, we can help restore vision and improve lives for those in need around the world. All glasses can be dropped off at the Main Office.
Art Meets Aquarium: Congratulations to the three photography contest winners from last week's ninth grade Aquarium trip! Prizes for these and scavenger hunt submissions were awarded this week!! Thank you to all who submitted and voted.
Beyond These Walls . . .
- Italian Language Awards: On Thursday, October 24th, Westchester County celebrated Italian Heritage Month by recognizing outstanding students and teachers of Italian language. Congratulations Ensar Burrja, Catherine Merlos and Oliver Wagner on earning this prestigious honor! Their teachers--Mr. Bianco and Mrs. Martinelli--were also recognized for their work. In addition, Ensar Burrja won a scholarship from Ace Endico. Congratulations all around! See pics here.
- Meals on Main Street 5k and Fun Run: After the Narwhals success at the Soul Ryeders benefit last spring, the band was invited to perform for this Meals on Main Street benefit last week in Port Chester. Our Narwhals--Thomas Briscoe, Jedd Amos, Alexander Hull, Ryan Truta, Abigail Flynn and Marco Begazo--invited newer Rye Neck ensemble, Scarlet Fever--Mia Plugh, Scarlet Colombini, Alexander Kahn and Sophia Philo--to help out! See pics here.
- Head of the Charles: Rye Neck's own rowers-- Mark DiMaggio, Katie Lawhon, Tara O'Reilly and Isaac Rabinowitz--participated in the annual competition Head of the Charles last Friday. Though the competition was fierce, our students did beautifully--and Katie's boat not only medaled, but broke the previous course record for Women's Youth 8+ by 12 seconds. See pics here. Row 2K Article. Crimson article.
- Making the World a Better Place! There was an impressive Rye Neck presence at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Rye Neck Teachers and the Rye Neck Cheer Team lent their voices and support to this important cause! Here are pics.

Drill Safety
NYS has enacted a new law that requires schools to give communities warning about when SAFETY DRILLS will be happening. This is being done in an effort to mitigate potential anxiety for learners, parents and caregivers. Though schools may not release the exact time of the drill, they can give a window of time for the drill.
- Type of Drill: Fire Drill
