Dear RMS Families-

We had a wonderful Red Ribbon Week/Spirit Week last week. Students and staff dressed up all week in support of being Drug Free! In addition, there was some excellent Halloween Spirit on Monday, October 31 at RMS.

Recently the Rochester Middle School Band performed with the Spaulding High School Band at the Spaulding and Winnacunnet football game on October 28th. They all did an awesome job! We look forward to hearing our band play again at the Veterans Day Assembly on November 10th. This assembly is for the school population and veterans. It will be a fun event.

November brings some interesting weeks with a Teacher Workshop, Early Release, and Veterans Day during the week of November 7-11. Thanksgiving Break is November 23-27. In addition, after Thanksgiving Break, we are coming to the close of Term A.

Please make sure you check the school website Live Feed, Twitter, and Facebook for morning announcements, monthly newsletters, and any advertisements for school events.

Free school lunches have been available to all students for the past two years, but that’s no longer the case. Families that qualify for free or reduced-price meals must once again apply for the benefit, something that hasn’t been required during the pandemic. By completing this form you are helping our city as the state’s adequacy calculation includes an additional rate for all students that qualify for free or reduced meals. Additionally, students may qualify for waived fees for some school programs, tests and college applications.

The Rochester School Department is launching an online meal application to help families complete this very important application. This online meal application is available here or by visiting the “Food Service” webpage on our district’s website.

This application is available to all families and please be on the lookout for incentives from your student’s school for simply completing the application.
