The Benton Blurb
News from Your Principal
Dear Benton Parents,
April 4, 2025
I am hopeful that all of you received my last newsletter letting you know about my move to Eagle Bluffs this summer. On Monday, I sent a follow up email letting you know about a listening session being held on Tuesday (April 8th) at 5:00 in the Benton Media Center. Here is that correspondence from Dr. Day:
Dear Benton STEM Elementary School Families,
We are excited to invite you to a family listening session at Benton STEM on Tuesday, April 8 at 5:00pm in the Media Center to provide the district feedback about the qualities and attributes you would like to see in the next building principal for Benton STEM Elementary School.
We encourage all families to attend and share their thoughts during this session. Your voice is an important part of this process, and we value your input as we work to find the best leader for the Benton STEM school community.
If you are unable to attend and would like to ensure your voice is heard, you can complete this Google Form.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Benton STEM Elementary School. We look forward to seeing you on April 8 and hearing your valuable insights.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly.
Warm regards,
Dr. Ryan Day
Executive Director of Elementary Education
I hope that you will be able to attend and let Dr. Day know your hopes and dreams for the next Benton STEM leader. In the mean time, don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need anything.
Your proud principal,
Sarah Sicht
Morning Drop Off
Parents, since returning from spring break, we have experienced a significant increase in parents not following appropriate protocols for drop off. Please remember that unless you plan on walking your child into the building you may not park in front of the school. Students MUST be dropped off in the back loop in the morning and may not get out of the car in front of the school.
Also, we have noticed an increase in unsafe driving on Hinkson and Ripley. Our number one job at school is to keep every child safe. Please help me by adhering to speed limits, watching for traffic and busses on the corners, and being aware of children in the cross walk.
I am working with CPD about these concerns and will be letting them know if parents do not adhere to our safely protocols. Please know that any disrespect or mistreatment of our Benton staff regarding these issues will be handled through the police department and our Safety and Security department.
Thank you,
Sarah
