ALL CURRENT JUNIORS & SOPHOMORES ARE REQUIRED TO JOIN THE FOLLOWING TWO GROUPS:

1. "2025-2026 PLANO BAND" Google Classroom (students only)

2. "25-26 Plano Band" on the BAND App! (Parents are encouraged to join as well!)

Plano Chamber Winds Festival, February 24 - $10 entry fee PAST DUE

• Participation in this festival is required of every wind player in the Plano Band (test grade)

1. Polish, perfect, and enjoy chamber music & solo music (contest is this week!)

2. Welcome our first concert band clinician of the year, Dr. McKoin!

3. To prepare for Pre-UIL

1. Sectionals this week, during classes (NO PRIVATE LESSONS)

• Symphonic & WE - Wednesday only (Brass)
• WE Percussion - Go to lunch during 4th period

2. Sarah McKoin Clinic - Tomorrow during all band classes + WE After school 4:45-6:45p

• After-school rehearsal with the Wind Ensemble is required and counts as a test grade!

3. Plano Percussion Chamber Music Festival, Friday-Saturday @ PSHS

4. UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest, Saturday @ Plano East SHS

• SOLOS & ENSEMBLES - on the day of the contest, you must provide an original to the judge (copies of the music are not allowed). Measures must be numbered. Your advanced planning will help ensure a successful contest day!

3. Band Spring Trip Payment #7 - $116 - DUE Feb. 28 - final payment ($772 total in account)

3. Trip Sign-Ups, BEGIN Feb. 24, END Mar 3

• Room/bus/cruise boat sign-ups will begin Feb. 24 & end Mar 3. There will be 3 buses, 2 cruise boats holding 60 each, and rooms with 6 students per room. Begin thinking/planning now!!!

3. Full Orchestra Rehearsal, Feb. 25, 4:45-6:45p (last one before UIL!)

4. Band Booster Meeting, Feb. 25 in ENSEMBLE ROOM

5. Plano Cluster MS Pre-UIL, Feb. 27-28 @ PSHS (Leadership help needed)

6. TCU Jazz Festival, March 1 (see attached itinerary below)

7. Jack Delaney Clinic, March 3 during all band classes + WE Afterschool 4:45-6:45p

8. UIL Orchestra Concert & Sightreading Evaluation, March 4 @ RFAC

9. SAT Day - All Juniors, March 5

10. Concert Band After School Rehearsal, March 5 4:45-6:45p

11. Plano Cluster Pre-UIL Concert Series, March 6-7 6-9p (test grade for all students)

• Leadership Required to work both nights

12. Plano Jazz Festival, March 8
