A Note from Mrs. Solomon

We will soon be participating in our safety drills as a building. We will have our Tornado Drill, Fire Drill (with fire department) and our Lock Down Drill (with the Kane County Police). Our tornado drill consists of students going to specific safety locations in the building in the tornado protected position, the fire drill will consist of the drill going off and students walking with staff to their designated locations outside of the building and the Lock down drill will consist of students going to a designated location in their rooms, lights off and doors locked. The sheriff and myself then walk the building to check that safety protocols are followed. If you wish to have your child OPT out of just the Lock Down drill. Please email me @ theresa.solomon@d303.org and we will not have your child participate in this drill. Generally this all goes very smooth and it is good practice for our students and staff.

Thank you to all our PTO we unfortunately needed to cancel the Scarecrow portion of today's events. The book fair is open from 3:00 to 6:30 PM today.

Last day to order spirit wear is tomorrow, 10/20/23.

Tomorrow is a school improvement day for staff to allow for professional development. There is NO SCHOOL for students tomorrow, Friday, October 20th.

Big Hearts of Fox Valley

For the 10th year in a row, D303 is again partnering with Big Hearts of Fox Valley, which supports families in need during the holiday season. Big Hearts of Fox Valley Holiday Giving Program's purpose is to provide holiday gifts for D303 students and their younger siblings whose families face significant financial hardship. Through Big Hearts, members of the D303 community anonymously shop for wish list items. D303 social workers will review applicants. If you are struggling and facing significant financial hardship and would like assistance providing holiday gifts to your children, click here.
