Panther Pride Newsletter

Welcome to Panther Nation
I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how excited I am to be serving the board, administration, staff, students, parents, and community at Norton City Schools. It is our goal in the Treasurer’s office to provide excellent fiscal services, so please feel free to stop by the office, introduce yourself, and let me know how we can be of service to you. This collaboration will enable me to onboard more effectively, learn more about our district, and assist in providing exceptional service. I look forward to meeting you!
Go Panthers!

Technology Exploration
Getting ready for state testing just got a lot more egg-citing! Mrs. Barker’s 5th-grade science classes are on the move, teaming up in pairs or small groups to search the room for hidden eggs. Inside each egg is a science question just waiting to be cracked! The questions are based on key 5th-grade science standards, including Earth and space, ecosystems, sound and light, and Newton’s Laws. What a fantastic, hands-on, collaborative, and exciting way to get students ready for the test!
High School
This is the time of year when career tech students in the Four Cities Compact, and all across the state of Ohio, compete in various competitions through SkillsUSA, HOSA, and DECA. This is an opportunity for our students to showcase all the skills and talents they've acquired in their programs and a chance to compare their knowledge to others in the field. Many students win awards, such as Kennedy Cooper pictured here, and continue to advance the great reputation of the Four Cities Compact. Congratulations to all the career tech teachers who make a lasting impact, and to all the students who work hard in their chosen career field!
Middle School
Panther Way in Action!
Norton Middle School students brought the Panther Way to life during a high-energy, Positive Communication Assembly! They learned how words can build others up—or bring them down—and how kindness can turn someone’s day around, while creating a positive school environment.
To celebrate students who consistently demonstrated The Panther Way in Quarter 3, Norton Middle School hosted an epic Students vs. Teachers Volleyball Tournament! The competition was fierce, the energy was high, and the fun was nonstop.
NES
During “Around the World Family Literacy Night,” the elementary school cafeteria was transformed into NES International Airport, offering exciting flights to Mexico, Italy, France, and various U.S. destinations. Our third-grade world travelers and their families embarked on a journey filled with engaging reading activities that earned them stamps in their passports. From reading, to therapy dogs, conducting STEM experiments to exploring travel brochures, postcards, and even encountering mystery readers—there was something for everyone! Tasty snacks and other surprises added to the fun.
Thanks to the dedication of community leaders, sponsors, and volunteers, the night was an overwhelming success! Our young globetrotters left with more than just smiles and unforgettable memories; they carried home real-life learning experiences that will inspire them for years to come.
Primary School
Celebrates a sunny Spring day with two wonderful guests!
Norton Primary Kindergarten students participated in an outdoor learning day with twin baby goats on Friday, March 21st. The Kindergarten students got to pet and spend time with them on the lower playground. We would like to thank Sharon VanArnam for bringing the goats, sharing all of her wonderful knowledge and making a lasting memory with the children.
