Fall Fest - Thursday, October 31st
Halloween is right around the corner. At Olga Brener, students can wear their Halloween costumes for Fall Fest and classroom parties. Student costumes do need to be school-appropriate. Students will only be allowed to wear a mask during classroom parties and are not allowed to bring any sort of item that may be considered a weapon or not school-appropriate.
School Based Dental Program Coming to Your School
Did you know that cavities can be prevented? Dental sealants can prevent 80% of cavities in back teeth, where 9 in 10 cavities occur. Sealants are a quick, easy and painless way to prevent most cavities children get and they can be applied by a dentist or dental hygienist right in schools.
Healthy Smiles, llc. will be providing oral health services including dental sealants through the Wisconsin Seal-A-Smile program at no charge to students or families. All students in grades PK -12 are eligible.
A consent form must be filled out before any child can participate. Please visit https://sealasmile.wisconsin.gov/Consent/Home/About to learn more and sign your child up today. If you already turned in a paper consent this school year, you do not need to sign up electronically. Please sign up by Friday, November 1, 2024.

Lice Prevention
The Importance of Head Checks
Hillcrest, LEADS, & Olga Brener
Please remember to routinely check your child for head lice. Cases of head lice often increase following school breaks when children have spent time in close contact with each other at sleepovers or other social groupings.
It is important to remember that children may have head lice without parents knowing or parents may choose to not inform the school. I would encourage you to routinely check your child’s hair for evidence of head lice as part of a weekly routine. Early detection and treatment are a key component to eliminating lice infestation. Class screenings are generally ineffective for early case finding and are not routinely or automatically done. The parent or guardian has the ultimate responsibility to ensure children are free of lice and nits.
Thank you for your assistance!
