Franklin's Heat Advisory Plan
In response to rising temperatures, Franklin Elementary is implementing a Heat Advisory Plan to ensure the safety and comfort of our students.
When the temperature exceeds 85°F, the following procedures will be in place:
Indoor Recess & PE
- Morning Recess: Teachers may choose to keep students in their classrooms for morning recess.
- Lunch Recess: All lunch recesses will be held in the auditorium, where students can engage in an indoor activity chosen by lunch supervision staff.
- Physical Education: PE classes will also be held indoors when the temperature rises above 85°F. Coach will adapt lessons to ensure students can stay active in a safe, climate-controlled environment.
Additional Guidelines
- To ensure students stay hydrated throughout the day. Wncourage them to bring water bottles and take frequent water breaks.
- Dress your student(s) in lightweight clothing
By working together, we can make sure our students stay safe and comfortable during hot weather days. Thank you for your flexibility and commitment to student well-being.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.
Afternoon Safety Patrol plan on heat advisory days…
We will continue to have a modified assignment. I’ll reach out to coach to see if I can use his room again so we can…
- work on the Cadence March, since that’s a requirement this year.
- work on areas that members have requested extra training on
At the end of the day the squad will still be responsible for lowering and bringing in the flag.
