WEEK OF JUNE 17
This Week
SCHEDULE
Summer Schedule
Chester Upland School District's Summer Schedule begins this week. Schools and Offices will be closed on Fridays through the week of August 12. Additionally, CUSD will be closed on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, and July 3 in observance of Independence Day.
If you need assistance here at STEM, please visit between the hours of 9 AM and 2:00 PM. We suggest calling or emailing the Office (yjones@chesteruplands.org; ldixon@chesteruplandsd.org) in advance of your visit so we can be prepared to help.
ACADEMIC UPDATES
Report Cards
Final Report Cards are now available on Powerschool. If you would like a hard copy of the Final Report Card, please contact Ms. Jones (yjones@chesteruplandsd.org) or Ms. Dixon (ldixon@chesteruplandsd.org) in the STEM Office 610-447-3650.
Summer School
Students who finished with failing grades in one or more Core Academic Subject (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) are required to make up that course in Summer School. Registration for Summer School is ongoing through Monday, June 24. Efforts have been made to directly contact each Student/Parent for whom Summer Credit Recovery is necessary, however it is the Student's responsibility to complete registration. Failure to successfully complete Summer School may result in Students not being invited back to STEM for the 2024-25 School Year. Questions regarding Summer Credit Recovery should be directed to STEM Counselors, Ms. Barnes (shbarnes@chesteruplandsd.org) and/or Ms. Hudson (bhudson@chesteruplandsd.org).
CHROMEBOOKS
Chromebooks
As in past years, Students returning to STEM will keep their CUSD issued Chromebook over the Summer Break. Chromebooks should be stored in a safe location. Those Students who are attending Summer School will need to bring their Chromebook each day for that program.
Students whose devices are damaged or lost will need to pay the replacement fees ($50 for Chromebook; $20 for Charger) to receive a new device in August.

PRINCIPAL BELL
Thank You!
As some may be aware, I will not be returning to STEM in the 2024-25 School Year. While I had originally planned to leave last year, things changed and I am glad to have stayed for one more great year. I am so appreciative of the support and partnership I have enjoyed with our Families over the years - I have loved working with you and your Students! My decision is based on the needs of my Family, and I am leaving with nothing but love for the Students and Families of Chester.
For the upcoming weeks, I will continue to be working, and will assist the new Principal once they are selected. It is my goal to ensure STEM is in good hands, and we are ready for another successful year in 2024-25! After that, I will not be far away, and will always be available to STEM Families if I can ever be of help. I will remain in touch with Chester, and I will not be a stranger in the coming years. Thank You!
