Attitude of Gratitude
Parents, Teachers, and Students
We hope you had a fantastic Veterans Day and were able enjoy time with family and friends. We also hope you were able to catch our special veterans edition newsletter honoring the Bobcat staff who have served our country, and continue to serve this community as educators. If students are considering serving in the military after graduation, those featured are a great resource to learn about the various branches of the service and all the benefits the military has to offer.
November is also a month for expressing gratitude, and we have much to be thankful for. Let's start with the many opportunities to give back to the community including the Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, the Student Council Canned Food Drive, and the PTO Ghost Pirate night that will provide funds in direct support of staff and student events, and a holiday meal for Bobcat families in need.

Military Child of the Year
Every year Operation Homefront awards a Military Child of the Year®. The awards are open to active duty, retired, and National Guard children. One child from each branch (7 recipients in all) receives $10,000 CASH, a laptop, other donated goodies, and a 3-day trip to Washington, DC with their families.
Anyone that knows a military child can nominate any military child. You may even nominate your own children. The program is entirely FREE and exclusive to military children.
Click the Operation Homefront MCOY button below for details.
Bobcat Angel Tree
Many community programs that help young children during the holidays are not available to high school age students. To support our Bobcat students and families in need we created the Bobcat Angel Tree. This tree is open to individuals, teams, clubs, you and your neighbors. All you have to do is take a bobcat off the tree and purchase the gift written on the angel.
Deliver all items, wrapped and ready to gift to our social worker Mrs. Olson or the front office by December 13. Gifts will be distributed to parents on December 18.
Thank you for being someone's angel.
Canned Food Drive
Student Council is coordinating a Thanksgiving canned food drive that will directly benefit Bobcat students and families in need. Requested items will be divided by grade level to ensure coverage and a complete meal for all. Items include green beans, yams, carrots, corn, cranberry sauce, gravy or gravy packets, box/packet bread mixes (like jiffy cornbread), boxed macaroni and cheese, boxed stuffing, boxed mashed potatoes, powdered milk, and other shelf stable groceries.
Collection runs from November 4 - November 18.
Deliver all items to your first block. The class with the most items wins donuts!
Please see Mrs. Carter room 1037 for questions.

Although nicotine pouches do not contain tobacco, they do contain nicotine which is a highly addictive stimulant substance. Nicotine has negative effect on all age groups but is particularly dangerous for young people because it can cause physical changes in their still-developing brains.
