Principal's Newsletter: March

Greetings Cheetah Families,

We Hope this message find you well as we transition into the month of March. We are excited to announce that parent-teacher conference will be held this month, and we encourage 100% parent participation. These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for you to meet with your child's teachers, discuss their progress, and address any questions or concerns you may have. We believe that a strong partnership between parents and teachers is essential for our student's success, and your active involvement in these conferences is greatly appreciated.

March is also Women's History Month and Youth Art's month. It is a time to honor the countless contributions and achievements of women throughout history, and a time to celebrate the creativity and talent of our young artists. Lastly, we would like to remind you that spring break will take place from March 11th to the 15th. It is a well-deserved break for our students, providing them with an opportunity to recharge and relax before our final grading period. We hope that you and your family have a wonderful time together, creating lasting memories and enjoying quality time.

"Roasting" has recently become a trend with some of our older students on campus. I ask you to please speak with your children about this. We've found that what is starting out as a joke, becomes more and more hurtful. Students have made fun of each others appearances, and even made derogatory/racial comments. I ask that you please address this with your students. We will not tolerate this conduct at Cavazos and will provide students with disciplinary consequences accordingly. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child's education. We value your partnership and look forward to meeting with you during parent-teacher conferences. Let's make March a month of celebration, appreciation, and rejuvenation!

TITLE 1 FUNDS- I NEED YOUR INPUT

Current Student Registration

Hard Deadline- April 9, 2024

Current Student Registration is now open. Parents can conveniently fill out the current KISD student registration forms online at www.killeenisd.org/enroll. The deadline for current student registration and applications for transfer, and grandfathering requests is April 9, 2024. Please ensure you provide proof of residency and an updated immunization card, which can be submitted either online or directly to your student's current campus.

It is VITAL that registration is completed for your child as soon as possible. All students who have successfully completed registration by, March 26, 2024 will receive a coupon for a Free Pizza.

This school year, the district has changed its processes. April 9, 2024 is a HARD DEADLINE.

Students will be made inactive in June if this process is not completed by APRIL 9. This is a true deadline for this school year. I know that was not the practice in recent years.

We will host a Current Student Registration event on March 26, 2024 for all parents who need assistance, or internet access to complete registration.
