Bluejacket Family Communication
May 15, 2025

Dear Bluejacket Families,
Spring is a time of celebration, reflection, and momentum across Cambridge-Isanti Schools. From welcoming the Class of 2038 at Kindergarten Discovery to honoring the Class of 2025, this season is filled with pride and purpose. These joyful moments—filled with connection, growth, and hope—remind us of the strength of our Bluejacket community and what makes this district such a special place to learn and grow.
Across our schools, students and staff are working hard to finish strong. Final projects, concerts, field trips, and end-of-year events are in full swing. Seniors are preparing for graduation, while younger students are wrapping up a year of growth and discovery. It’s a time of year that brings both excitement and reflection, as we look back on how far we’ve come and look ahead to all that’s next.
Earlier this month, we celebrated our seniors’ next steps on Decision Day and recognized students entering the military, competing in college athletics, and receiving nearly $254,000 in scholarships through Dollars for Scholars. These milestones reflect not only the hard work and dedication of our students but also the incredible support of our educators and our community. We’re deeply grateful to our many partners whose generosity makes these opportunities—and the celebrations that come with them—possible for our students, staff, and families.
Later this week, we’ll launch our Annual Family Survey. Your input plays an important role in shaping future decisions and helping us grow stronger together. As we head into summer, please take a moment to ensure your contact information is up to date in Skyward so you don’t miss important updates. Thank you for your continued partnership—and for all you do to support our students, staff, and schools. Go Big Blue!

Celebrating Our Seniors and Their Next Steps
Decision Day
On May 1, Cambridge-Isanti High School celebrated Decision Day, an annual tradition recognizing our seniors and their exciting plans for life after graduation. Whether entering the workforce, enrolling in college, joining the military, or exploring other meaningful paths, our students shared their futures by creating personalized graduation caps—each a unique symbol of their goals and dreams. These caps will be proudly displayed in the high school in the weeks leading up to Graduation.
This joyful event reflects our district’s strategic commitment to educate, empower, and inspire every student, every day. It aligns with our measurable objective that all students will graduate with a plan for their future. Moreover, it embodies our belief that every individual has skills and talents that make them uniquely equipped to contribute as a responsible citizen. A heartfelt thank-you to Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union for generously donating the cakes that helped make this celebration even more memorable.
Honoring our Military-Bound Students
On May 7, CIHS held its 4th Annual Military Signing Ceremony. This event recognizes and honors students who have committed to serving in the United States Armed Forces after graduation. The swearing-in ceremony marks the beginning of a new and courageous chapter in their lives, as these students prepare to uphold the values of duty, honor, and service. This year, 18 Cambridge-Isanti seniors have chosen to follow the Bluejacket Way by answering the call to serve our country.
Cambridge-Isanti High School commends these students for their bravery and dedication and thanks them for their commitment to protecting our nation's freedoms.
College Athlete Commitments
On April 30, CIHS proudly recognized students who have committed to continuing both their academic and athletic journeys at the collegiate level. Throughout the 2024–25 school year, a total of 27 Bluejacket student-athletes signed commitments to pursue higher education while competing in college athletics.
This celebration honors not only their athletic achievements, but also their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence both in the classroom and in their chosen sports. Cambridge-Isanti takes great pride in these students and looks forward to seeing all they will accomplish at the next level.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month
This month, we shine a spotlight on the importance of supporting the mental health and well-being of all members of our school community. Our strategic plan calls us to partner with families and our community to ensure every student feels safe, supported, and empowered to thrive. Mental wellness is a shared priority, and we are grateful for the ongoing efforts of our school counselors, social workers, psychologists, teachers, staff, families, and community partners who work every day to make our schools welcoming and inclusive.
For families seeking tools, services, or guidance, we encourage you to visit the Mental Health Resources page on our website and explore the Isanti County Collaborative's collection of family resources at isanticountycollaborative.com/resources. These links include information on local counseling services, crisis support, basic needs assistance, and tips for supporting youth mental health at home.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to expanding access, fostering open conversations about mental health, and ensuring every Bluejacket feels a strong sense of belonging and care in our school community.
We Want to Hear from You!
In the coming weeks, families will receive a link to our annual district-wide survey—a valuable opportunity to share your feedback and help shape the future of Cambridge-Isanti Schools. This year, we’ve streamlined the process into one comprehensive survey where you can tell us how we’re doing and where we can grow.
Your voice matters. Please watch for an email from your child’s principal with the survey link, and thank you in advance for taking a few minutes to share your perspective. Together, we’re building a stronger Bluejacket community—your voice is a critical part of this work.
