Principal Nolan's Notes
November 20, 2024
Hello, Hampshire Families!
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and my sincere hope is for all of our families to have a safe and relaxing holiday. I am incredibly thankful for our strong school community that includes students, staff, and families that have a shared value of communication, hard work, and intentional effort aimed at continuous improvement. Take time to ask your student(s) what he/she is thankful for and enjoy the holiday with family and friends!
⭐ Parent-Teacher Conferences ⭐
We can’t wait to see you! If you have not yet signed up for Parent/Teacher Conferences using the PTC Wizard system, it will stay open for a few more days and then close on Friday, 11/22 at 12:00 PM. Parent-Teacher Conferences provide an opportunity to be part of your child’s learning journey and ask questions you may have to help guide your involvement in your child’s efforts in school.
Book Fair & Breakfast Buddies
The Scholastic Book Fair will be at HES for a few more days. Each class had a "Preview Day" in which students were able to look at the available books, posters, and other items in order to make a wish list. Each class signed up for a "Purchase Time Slot" to provide time for students to make purchases with money put into their 'ewallet'.
HERE is more information about the eWallet,
There are still two more days of Breakfast Buddies! Thank you, HSO!
From 7:00-8:00 AM, parents, grandparents, or other family members are welcome to join a student as their Book Fair Breakfast Buddy. There will be coffee provided in the cafeteria. Guests joining a student for breakfast will then have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair at 7:30 AM to peruse or make purchases. Students and families will not be able to go into classrooms early.
Book Fair Parking & Arrival
We are happy to welcome many grandparents and parents to join us for Breakfast and Book Fair Buddies in the mornings. When we welcome guests to the building, oftentimes they are unaware of our arrival procedures and park on Terwilliger Avenue where our arrival process begins at 7:45.
We are aware that Book Fair & Breakfast Buddies causes confusion and a delay in our morning arrival process when parents are trying to drop off students in Zone 2. Thank you for your patience and know that this is temporary. We appreciate your kindness and understanding.

Food Drive & Pack the Place Basketball Game 🏀
The upcoming holiday season is a wonderful time of year to think about ways to give back to the community. HES is participating in a food drive with a goal of collecting 1,000 items for the Hampshire/Burlington Food Pantry. Please see THIS FLYER for more information and then join us at Hampshire High School on Friday, 12/20 for a Pack-the-Place event to support the basketball teams! Students and families get in free by bringing in a food item to donate to the Food Pantry. Can't wait to see you there!
🎨Young Rembrandts 🖌️
Is your child interested in drawing? The Young Rembrandts program not only teaches children how to draw, but also focuses on building important life skills. During classes, students learn to follow directions, work independently, and develop problem-solving skills. By providing a structured environment for artistic expression, the program gives children the tools they need to succeed both academically and emotionally.
Sign up your student for the Winter Session here at HES by clicking HERE! Young Rembrandts will meet here at HES on Wednesdays from 2:20-3:20 PM from 1/8/25 through 3/26/25.
