Boise School District 9th Graders Get a Hands-On Look at Career Pathways at DTEC
Dennis Technical Education Center (DTEC) welcomed all 9th-grade students from the Boise School District for an immersive day of career exploration and hands-on learning in January. This annual event gave students the opportunity to step into the world of Career and Technical Education (CTE), experience real-world applications of various trades and industries, and discover potential career pathways.
Throughout the day, students toured DTEC’s state-of-the-art facilities, engaged in interactive demonstrations, and connected with instructors and current students to learn more about the wide range of programs available. From welding and automotive technology to health sciences and graphic design, the event showcased the diverse opportunities awaiting them in high school and beyond.
By providing early exposure to these dynamic career paths, DTEC aims to inspire students to explore their passions and make informed decisions about their educational journey. We were thrilled to see their enthusiasm and curiosity, and we look forward to supporting them as they shape their futures!

DTEC Open House
DTEC Open House Showcases Hands-On Learning and Career Pathways
In early February, Dennis Technical Education Center (DTEC) opened its doors to the community for an Open House, giving visitors an inside look at the diverse career and technical education programs we offer. From future students exploring their options to current students proudly demonstrating their skills, the evening was a celebration of hands-on learning, innovation, and career exploration.
Guests had the opportunity to tour our facilities, engage in interactive demonstrations, and connect with instructors and students to learn more about our programs. Whether it was welding sparks flying, healthcare students showcasing their clinical skills, or graphic design projects coming to life, the energy and enthusiasm in each classroom highlighted the incredible opportunities available at DTEC.
It was inspiring to see our students and staff shine as they shared their knowledge and passion with the community. We are grateful for the support of families, industry partners, and community members who attended and continue to champion career and technical education.
