PowerSchool Update 🌸
Greetings Lawnside Families,
We're excited to announce an enhancement in our communication system regarding your child's academic progress. The Lawnside School District now offers expanded capabilities through the Parent Portal, enabling you to view not just daily class progress but also quarterly report cards.
What's New?
Previously, report cards were distributed by teachers during report card conferences at the end of each marking period. With this update, as soon as a marking period concludes, you'll gain immediate access to your child's report card via the Parent Portal.
Get Started:
If you haven't yet registered for the PowerSchool Parent Portal, here's how to begin:
1. Visit the district website.
2. Go to the 'Parent Resource' tab and select 'Parent Portal'.
3. Click 'Create Account' and follow the on-screen instructions.
Need Access Credentials?
If you require your Access ID and password, please contact Ms. ShaNell Wilson at swilson@lawnside.k12.nj.us.
We believe this new feature will not only provide you with timely updates on your child's academic journey but also positively impact their success in our district.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education.
Message From The Superintendent🌸
The month of March is Women's History Month, a celebration of the contributions women have made to history, culture, and society. This month we would like to highlight Mayor Mary Ann Wardlow.
Mayor Wardlow was elected as the first female Mayor of Lawnside in November 2010. Mayor Wardlow and her late husband (Earl) have lived in Lawnside for over 48 years raising two daughters; Councilwoman Rhonda Wardlow Hurley, and Gina Wardlow Hill, esq. Mayor Wardlow and her family have always been actively involved in the Lawnside community and throughout Camden County. Mayor Wardlow was inspired to get involved in her community by her mother and grandparents who always told her, "Your community is your family".
During her tenure, Mayor Wardlow has worked collaboratively with members of the Lawnside Borough Council to enlarge the Public Safety, Police, and Public Works Departments, increase business investment and community development, and established various community-wide initiatives for the youth and seniors. Mayor Wardlow has always been a strong supporter of the Lawnside School District.
Over the years, Mayor Wardlow has received various recognitions and acknowledgements including but not limited to; 2003 Women's History Month Leadership Award from the Camden County Chapter of the New Jersey Federation of Democratic Women, Induction into the NJ State League of Municipalities Elected Officials Hall of Fame, 2003 Senate and General Assembly Award, and 2023 Camden County Congressional Freedom Award.
Mayor Wardlow has tried to live up to what her mother instilled in her which was to, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you and you will be obeying all of God's commandments."

Health Services Department🌸
To the Parents of all 5th Grade Students:
The purpose of this memo is to inform you of the immunization requirements for all students entering grade 6 in New Jersey schools.
New Jersey Code N.J.A.C.8:57-4: Immunization of Pupils in Schools requires pupils entering grade 6 and are 11 years of age, born after 1/1/97 will have documented in the school health office: one (1) dose of meningococcal vaccine and one (1) dose of Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap).
Students must also receive a physical exam during pre-adolescence, grades 4-6. This is the perfect time to meet both requirements.
Please schedule an appointment to see your physician soon after your child turns 11 to receive their required immunizations and physical exam.
Please send in evidence of immunizations to the health office soon after your child’s 11th birthday. If these vaccines are not obtained by September 1, 2024 your child will not be
able to start the 2024-2025 school year.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at the above phone number and
email.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Sharon L. Hughes RN, BSN, CSN
